Cycling Pro Discussion 4: Transfers Everywhere, Vuelta & Beyond

I thought Pog switched bikes after the crash. He didn't accepted the spare bike and still used the one he crashed on. Colnago's marketing are getting interesting.

*he switched bikes 600 meters later

Always a beautiful race. Makes me want to move to Tuscany.

Pogi has conditioned us to not even realize how special these performances are.

Pidock had great form but don't understand his tactics at all. Why attack when UAE was on the front? The selection was already being made. Then he seemed to work way too much with Pogacar. What is Pogacar doing to do if you don't work with him, decline to share an extra bottle with you? I could see going to the front on the decents to put some pressure on. Easy to talk when I am sitting on my sofa but I don't get the tactics at all. Tom probably would have ended up second anyway but still, seems like suboptimal racing.

I am undecided about the longer route. Pogacar's presence makes it difficult to judge what the longer route would be like if only humans were racing.

I love the narrative that Pidcock waited for Pogacar as a sign of sportsmanship. Nah, mf'er. Pog caught up and Pidcock slowed down so he could keep up working with Pog.

Pretty anti-hyped for Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico as GC is pretty much a done deal before they have even started, particularly for Paris-Nice with Vingo sweep expected.
I saw an interview with Neilson Powless before Stage 1 where he stated that his goal is to win the race. I like it when cyclists are honest. But, also, you know, good luck with that.

Not sure about that. He had to continue to ride after Pog crashed as he obviously didn't know if Pog would be able to get back on his bike at all, or get on his bike and then retire. Once pog was fine he slowed and waited.

God I am hating these Visma TT helmets on road stages. pretty please UCI do something good and ban 'em.
EF with that POC helmet is pushing it but these are on another level.
