There was a time in the 70s where they ran 3 stages in a day at the tour.

I was coached by an old eastern European cyclist. It's easy to forget how savage racing used to be. The guy escaped after the '68 Olympics and when he got here he did an amateur stage race over 8 days that was a long road race every day and a 60k crit in the evening of of every town that had the stage finish.

Dont really know what to think about the Tour route. Past few years I have been thinking "this suits Pog!" "ooh this is real good for Johan Vinbegorg" but now it is just how much time are they losing to the Pogster.

Haven’t looked at the map yet.

Hey, who is the little guy maybe Middle Eastern cyclist who was also a boxer and got in a fight while in a tour?

<damn>

In particular, a return to some climbs where Pogacar has memorably struggled in the past, stick out to Zonneveld as he looks for evidence to back up his theory. "On the Ventoux, Pogacar was dropped by Vingegaard in 2021, on the Hautacam he was quartered by Wout van Aert in 2022 and the Col de la Loze is from Pogacar's collapse in 2023. They are simply looking for all the demons of the Slovenian prodigy once again,"

<BC1>

Go ahead. He's still gonna win. He took everyone's soul at this year's tour.
Exactly.

They are literally just designing a tour to break Pogacar. Like everyone can match him up in the last 40km of every ride.

If you can't beat Pogacar buy Pogacar - or maybe not with a 200M Euro release clause.

Cycling is boring when the same guy wins every time.
But it brings eyeballs. People who can't even dribble a ball know who Jordan is. Some non-cyclist follow at least the grand tours because of Pog. Then he'll probably admire the other mutants. Or go deep into the peloton and be fan of my man Victor Campenaerts.

2025 will be year of the Remco. Believe it! My boy will return with watts never seen before and 200 race IQ!

last part might be a bit of a stretch but I have faith!
Remco looks around and no one will pull for him when Pog attacks with 70km left. Repeat for 3x for 3 grand tours.
