Me when I explain the Ayuso situation to my wife and she tells me "Maybe he's just tired. "

atleast Vine did pull for about 200m

UAE Team Emirates – XRG and Spanish rider Juan Ayuso have mutually agreed to an early termination of his contract, which was originally set to run until 2028. Ayuso will now remain on the roster until the end of 2025 after a decision was made following differences in the vision of development plans and in the alignment with the team’s sporting philosophy.

well I quess his war against working worked?

re Vine, team strategy in the 1st week can be debated (having Vine up the road on long breaks twice - not optimal to support GC but very pragmatic if you believe that Jonas is the clear cut favourite and you think "a few stages wins and a podium is a nice combo) but Vine seemed well positioned when Jonas attacked. It was Almeida who seemed a few spots too far back, although maybe he just did not have the snap.

In any case, Vine looked well positioned, he looked back to his leader, held up, and then tried to close the gap - even if he only lasted a few hundred metres

I remain skeptical of Pidcock as a Grand Tour GC rider but no doubt he had a great day and looked really strong. I am not sure how he will do in the real big mountains but I could say that about everybody outside of the top 2.

Pissed off Almeida. I can't blame Pidcock, he would've faded if he took turns with Joao chasing Jonas. He's almost there but people are trying to compare with the Pogis and the Jonas', which I think isn't fair.

Ayuso to Lidl-Trek pretty much a lock? People would rather he go to INEOS - where he will be the automatic GC rider or Movistar. I guess he can compete with Ciccone.

Pidcock is great on hockey stick stages. Not so much when they are spending big all day.

Mads says that the beatings will stop when you do your sprint points pulls? It is a team that at least to outside appears to be very much everyone works for everyone when needed.

Kid needs structure. I hope the environment over there make him a better team mate, or Jonathan Milan will have his way with him.

Ayuso has obvious talent. UAE gave him a lot of chances. I don't like to besmirch a guy just based on what I see on tv but hard to construct a way to see him as a good teammate. I mean, the dude acts like he should not have to work for Pogi.

Anyway, he will get a fresh start. Probably good for everybody involved.

Presumably UAE will wreck him every chance that they get. I would not want to be him at the TdF next year and be in Pogi's sights. Fuuucckkk.

Do you guys think he is a legit Grand Tour winner or that he tops out as Landa 2.0 (a very good rider, but, you know, Landa)

Over/Under

Number of TdF wins: 0.5
Number of TdF podiums: 1.5
Number of Grand Tour overall wins (any of the 3): 0.5

The way it was portrayed by reporters was that Ayuso was pushing incredible numbers in training, (Pog/Eisenberg level) and that Pog was not liking this!!!

I don't like him - the little shit. Lol
I heard it's Ldl-Trek? Let's see how it does - good to have someone to hate (for no validated reason!)

Anyway, I'm liking Pidcocks race so far. So much talent. I enjoy watching him race. Nice to see Almeida getting wound up with Tom on the last climb to Valdezcaray? I don't recollect seeing much emotion from the " it is what it is" Portuguese.

Wait until he starts taking it seriously (like now). Until this point, he's been pissing around playing muddy buggers on his mountain bike in the fields,
behind his grandma's house every other weekend, apart from the last Sunday in every month, when he plays basketball.for the U12's

Suprised to see Gall get dropped and Bernal still does not have it. It will be a tight battle for the white jersey between Pelizzari and Riccitello.

Mini Classic San Sebastian tomorrow, should be a good one.

Just few pages ago I was feeling bad for him!

He has zero chance against Pog and Vingegaard in the coming years, less than 10% against Remco!

Over at Tour of Britain break is in state of panic as they hear that Remco is leading the chase!!
