Pro Cycling Discussion 4: Transfers Everywhere, Vuelta & Beyond

For such a crash prone rider you'd think Roglic would be a pretty timid descender but he is pretty damn good.

Whenever it was that he won his first Tour stage he was deemed a top descender at that time.

It's possible he got the yips descending. I knew a prominent pro many years ago that had trouble descending so he took up cyclocross. He became pretty good at cross and IIRC he might even medaled at the WC. At the end of his career no one thought he had trouble descending.

RAMPAS INHUMANAS!

Break starting Puerto de Pajares soon.

Roglic changed bike to 1x with massive cassette. Front ring looks really small too as it looks like he is spinning out on false flat.

Landismo with that look in his eyes! I can feel it!

Mas with that look in his eye!!!

great finale! I wont say that Roglic was bad but he underperformed.

Another big mountain stage with Lagos de Covadonga finale.

2021 Covadonga stage Bernal 60km to go true ciclismo attack never forget

Great stage, such a shame about crashes. Think it was the same corner as in 2021.

GOLDEN REMCO returned to racing to "test legs" at Tour of Britain

Another win for Groves. He is almost never going to win flat stage sprints to likes of Merlier, Milan but as a climby sprinty boi he has great chances against second level sprinters and Alpecin is using him brilliantly sending him to Vuelta.

A few guys like bahaus and groves did nicely this year trying to go for those reduced sprint stages

EL CONDOR DE LOS ANDES, EL LEON, GANADOR DE VUELTA NAIRO QUINTANA dropped from the GC group 2 min in the Moncavillo

ok absolute Bora blasting

Rather boring stage compared to earlier hype about massive amounts of elevation gain. Climbs have simply been too easy for GC raids and only the mountaintop finish at Picon Blanco is hard.

What a dud the final Vuelta weekend turned out to be.

Long wait until World Tour level stage racing returns 21.01 - 26.01 at the Tour Down Under.

Only a handful of big races left in the season:

11.09 Euro ITT
13.09 Quebec GP
15.09 Euro road
15.09 Montreal GP
22.09 Worlds ITT
29.09 Worlds road
12.10 Il Lombardia with a nerfed profile to make Pogacar monument farming slightly more challenging.
