Prime Tyson overrated.

I’m a big Iron Mike fan, definitely a bias about his prime, but aside from picking fantasy fights with my heart, the dude did not prove as much as his fans wanted him to, so he does create a little discussion on the matter.

Without a doubt the most insane potential ever shown at HW......but generally all for naught. Wowed the world by eviscerating scrubs.....but unfortunately never shone in the big moments when it came time to fight the upper echelon. I believe he put on a bit too much muscle mass which hindered that early speed and timing he had.

I have him somewhere in the 10-15 range of a HW goat list.

He was a very good boxer but he's also only a borderline top 10 HW. People (casuals) often have him as the GOAT, so yes, he is overrated.

Overrated by casuals. Underrated by “experts”. Probably towards the bottom of the top 10. In his actual prime though I can't say he would have a chance vs ATG heavyweight champ like Foreman, Ali, Lewis, Fury, Wlad.

In his prime, no drugs or partying, Rooney still training him...hes top 5 all time. Very few would have had the chance to beat him. He was very fast and had excellent movement. Routinely defeated guys much bigger. Its only when he fired his og trainers and started the fast life when we seen dents in his armour. He was doing hookers and blow the night before his Douglas fight and people around him claim he didnt even sleep. If thats true, im surprised he got past 2 rounds. Jail alongside more partying when he got out pretty much signaled the end of his career.

A disciplined Mike would have been a nightmare for anyone.

Also, dont ever put Fury in with the greats. His main skill was : being big.
