How do you reckon this fight would play out? Tyron was regarded as nigh unbeatable during his reign but as demonstrated later on, he did not do well against pressure. And khabib brings a lot of it.
Tyron is the superior athlete imo but I'd be curious if he can handle the pressure of a smaller fighter. Who do you think would be the favorite in this match up? I'd even say that ultimately, wrestling was the weakness of Tyrone.
Inb4 some retard rants about Khabib being a coward etc etc.

Tyron was never impressive in his prime. Barely squeaking out against Thompson twice, beating a old Maia and a Green Till.
Tyron folds under pressure and Khabibs pressure is godly. Easy fight for Khabib.

For me the only WW that would give Khabib trouble is Usman. The rest are easy money.

Obviously, a T-Wood bomb could be devastating, but all of the ones that Tyron managed to land in his career were too slow and basic for Khabib to fall for, so I think he'd evade or freeze Woodley into his vintage self - which wasn't a thing he only did during his decline, he always pulled that low output/back against the fence shit.

I'd favor Khabib. Especially if you add 15lbs on top of him, a 170lbs + fight night water weight Khabz on top of you sounds like a complete nightmare.

Tyrone Woodley would be the biggest, strongest opponent that Khabib has ever fought in mma.

Khabib has never tested himself in another weight class in the UFC like Cejudo, Cormier, GSP, or Anderson Silva.

LOL at being near unbeatable when 2 of his "defenses" were basically draws and his win over Maia was one of the worst performances in UFC title fight history. Woodley always had an issue with handling pressure (watch him turtle up in the Rory fight years before he was champ) and if anything he faced favorable style opponents to extend his reign longer than it really should have been.

That being said, a lot of the grappling domination that happened to Woodley started with him getting caught standing and I don't know if Khabib would threaten him in that way so if Woodley stuffed a few of the early takedowns which is at least plausible (especially given the size difference), he might gain confidence and Khabib might get flustered.

My gut says Khabib via decision but it would be an interesting fight if Woodley actually let the hands go (big IF). People act like Khabib has some proven iron chin but he rarely ever got been hit clean so we could very well see him in a position we haven't seen if Woodley could stay off the fence. Would say the odds would be damn near even, prob -130 Khabib if they actually were scheduled to fight Prime vs Prime

You're fooling yourself if you don't believe prime Wonderboy, prime Rory, prime Woodley, Lawler, Burns, Hendricks, Fitch, Khamzat, Koscheck, Colby ect are all difficult matchups. Obviously GSP disposes of Khabib with ease.

Also, you don't kill yourself cutting weight if you can beat top guys at a healthy weight.

Perhaps its not worth saying, but its all complete speculation. All we have to go on as to how he did against bigger guys is rumors from workouts in the gym. Maybe he truly give 205'ers a run for their money. Maybe its embellished. It is very interesting to me that, for a guy who seems to value legacy over money and often had a hard time making weight, he never chose to fight up a weight class. That doesn't necessarily mean that he wouldn't have done well at 170lbs. It could just mean that he didn't want to flirt too closely with the possibility of blemishing his zero loss record.
At the end of the day, I just wanted to weigh in and say, I have no idea.

Horrible match up for Woodley.
Woodley doesn't manage well orthodox grinder wrestler with a decent lead hand.

Probably Khabib by sub or tko based on Colby's performance.

Khabib didn't move up, so WW's win by default.

If Tyron's going to throw 0 strikes then he loses

Maybe, but roided Tibau sure looked like a full-sized, full-strength WW. That said, this was Khabib's toughest fight so it's hard to say. But if Woodley couldn't get a KO, would he be willing to grapple extensively? Wrestling is one thing, but if anyone gets a submission, it would be Khabib. It's a hard fight to call, as are all hypothetical fights where someone moves up/down a weight class. Lots of unknowns. But I do think Usman and Colby's much more active styles would be tougher for Khabib than Woodley, whose main threat is a KO shot. Even if he had some success wrestling, I can't see Woodley following that strategy for 5 rounds. He's always had a low work rate and tried to conserve his energy.
