prime Lebron > prime Kobe

Give me King James any day of the week.

Makes everyone around him better and is one of the best defenders in the league. From Rose to Durant he can cover anyone you put in front of him.
 
Nothing suggests LeBron will surpass Kobe let alone Jordon. I think he potentially could but he's got a lot of catch up to do with already being in the league for 10 years.

A lot of people in SB have short memories and don't remember why Kobe is considered the goat or #2.

Kobe's career speaks for itself and I wont even attempt to argue against that. That is better left for after they are both done. I just dont remember Kobe ever being hands down the best player in the leauge year after year. The shooting percentage with the volume is really impressive. His abilty to play in the paint now along with his rebounding and passing I think really seperates him from Kobe. Kobe is arguably a better defender and he does have a better clucth reputation but I just think Lebron has turned a corner and reached his potential (or close to it).

Maybe its just the other superstars in the league right now I dont know. Kobe did have to contend with Duncan, Shaq ect early in his career for best in the league and right now Lebron really only has to contend with Durant. Even though I think that helps make Lebron look better compared to the rest of the NBA I still think his level of play right now is better than Ive seen out of Kobe. I think of the late 2000s as Kobe's prime because thats when he was winning titles as the guy winning his MVP and really was just to me at his all around best. Feel free to point out where I am wrong in this. Also not for nothing we cant say for sure that Lebron isnt going to be better next year but he is definately in his "prime" right now.

Besides Laker fans, who ever considered him the GOAT? or even #2? or even number #5 for that matter?

At the moment, Colby is 6th All-Time at best. After this season, he'll be dropping to 10th on my list though.

they made the playoffs that season with the top four players on that team: bryant, odom, rookie bynum, smush parker

year they missed playoffs: bryant, odom, caron butler, kareem rush. can't be lebron and play in a league where 12 wins *gets you the 4th seed.

If kobe was so great he wouldn't have missed the playoffs that year and this year. He's an overrated can that laker fans think he's one of the best.
 
Kobe is p4p the most overrated player in NBA history and I'm not even trolling
 
They should post their ft % in the clutch.

I'd still take prime Lelbron over prime Kobe though. Don't think Lelbron has reached his peak yet either.

30,000 points. scoring champ. mvp. 2x finals mvp. 35 ppg in a season. 81 points in a game. top 10 player all time while spending 8 seasons as the second guy. 5/7 in nba finals.

call him a can because he can't carry a team with odom and smush parker to the playoffs where the 8th seed had 45 wins.

this right here is the best season lebron will ever have. of course we will have to wait to see that, but i would bank on it.

Thing that made Jordan great was his ability to change his game as he got older. When Lelbron's speed and strength fade, will he make the necessary adjustments? I think he will. He's got a high basketball IQ, and he'll always be a good distributor.
