Let's be real here.

Prime Gomi fought bigger guys with more well-rounded skill-sets, had more punching power, heart, and an iron chin.

Interestingly, the guys that the shot Gomi lost to in the UFC could (and one already has) all beat McGregor too.

Not a stretch but Gomi's wide swings would invite uppercuts and straights galore...

Fuck it. PRIDE never die. Gomi KO rd 1.

Name one guy more well rounded than Aldo that Gomi beat. I'll wait. And no. Diego Sanchez doesn't beat Conor lol.

I think TS can't stop thinking about conor

I was thinking of Gomi/McGregor the other day, and WOW!!! What a great fight that would be. Gomi's iron chin and wrestling would win him that fight (inhis prime of course).

Prime gomi had speed and technique. Conor would not hurt his block head... gomi would finish him.

Are we talking 161 lbs?

If so, Gomi takes it handily.

Prime Gomi was crazy tough, but I think he gets lit up. Its conceivable though.

Great hypothetical fight. Actually it is a fight I would still like to see.

Really though McGregor isn't exactly the defensive master his fans believe him to be an Gomi had both insane power and insane chin.

all the best sherdog threads start with "lets be real here"

155 Diego that's willing to go the ground taps conor

I agree with this. I think Gomi wins, but in large part due to his durability and ground game. However, given Gomi's dedication to body work and the possible holes in McGregor's endurance, he may have a path to victory on the feet too.

He's also the arguable GOAT a weight class higher than where McGregor won his world championship, so that's no knock on the Irishman.

Prime anyone beats McGregor. Conor would also lose to everyone he already beat in a rematch.

One of the world's great mysteries is how McGregor has won any fights in the UFC.

Standing I would take conor. Gomi could beat him with his ground game though

He'd extinguish him with a straight left.
