Overeem's too big too well rounded. Only advantages I see for Bas are fight IQ, cardio and chin but it wouldn't be enough.
Igor wasnt overrated, that guy was a dangerous killer. He was weak off his back but so what? how many others were in his time? By the time he started losing he had allready had 100 fights,if we count his kickboxing career. He was never the best fighter but he was always dangerous, and a cut above alot of the fighters in the early days.

Idk man those are pretty big advantages for Bas. Bas has a great chin and is hard to put away, and overeem is known to gas. Bas is a very smart tactician as well and he could game plan for Reem, imo.
Not 255 lb overeem though. That would be too much for him. The size AND skill would win out there. I would however laugh my balls off if he surprised reem with one of those palm thrusts and finished him off of that
I agree. Igor was the man. NOBODY even till this day hits quit like he did. He had sledgehammers for fists. And he was surprisingly agile for his size. Seeing him doing his tkd kicks and all that was impressive. He's a HOF'er easily imo.

Bas would light AO up!
It's not even close!
Bas should be on GOAT discussion, but if he can beat a "never was".
Bas would get subbed.
Are these the people that bet on Royce Gracie against Matt Hughes?
HOF for Igor? LOL, For what? the only good win he has was against Kerr, the rest are Enson Inoue, Gary Goodridge, Gilbert Yvel, Valentijn Overeem, Yuki Kondo and like 90 complete unknowns.
Hilarious that some people really compare Bas and Alistair as kickboxers when is nowhere near, Bas only beat a few nobodys and got destroyed by the only good competition he faced and then he switch to Pancrase.
And yes Alistair is a glass cannon, but people forget he defeat Badr Hari, Peter Aerts, Gokhan Saki and Tyrone Spong in K1, he is 100x more accomplish than Bas.
If we talk about prime Fedor or Nogueira or Cro Cop in MMA and Aerts, Hoost, Le Banner in Kickboxing, all would easily be at the top of their divisions today, but the likes of Rutten and Vovchanchyn would not.
Igor would potentially have a case for being an innovator even if he's not in the top 10 in terms of actual achievement, guys like Goodridge x2 , Valentijn and Ension weren't nododies, they did have legit wins over the likes of Randy and Babalu around that time, he beat Yvel amd Saku(admittedly post 60 mins of Royce) as well.
If your talking about HW today there is a case that Bas and Igor might just be in the top 10 today given how shallow the division is compared to 5-10 years ago.
