I thought DDP was dead. Sean's pitter patter jabs are basically the equivalent of being shot point blank by a rocket launcher.

If everyone acted like Strickland society would be completely dysfunctional. There's speaking your mind, then there's being an asshole. Strickland can be both. I actually like him, he's humble and smarter than he lets on, but the guy is damaged, to his own detriment.

The fight was a toss up. Strickland did nothing but paw out jabs and was on the back foot a lot, so I don't think he can be too upset at getting a close decision loss. If he fought like he did against Adesanya I think he wins. He was way too passive in this fight for some reason and even his own corner admonished him for it at one point.

I think mentally he was off kilter and didn't get his head into the fight properly. Hopefully he learns and comes back stronger.

I'm bummed that he talks a good game but every time it comes to getting into the cage, he basically spars with his opponent. DDP fought Sean for 25 minutes. Sean sparred for 20 then fought for 5.

If Sean's opponent has cardio, he probably isn't getting a finish or even going to try for one.

GSP tried harder to finish opponents than Sean Strickland does and he got tons of shit for it but also fought nothing but the best fighters over and over again, something Sean doesn't even do.. In fact, Sean just does the same thing Georges did (Use his jab) but no grappling or attempt to get submissions.

But George didn't say that children should be beaten and women shouldn't work, so he's a pussy. This is the logic of many of Strickland's fans.

George was twice the man that Strickland is. He actually has the mental ability to deal with shit in a healthy way. It takes a lot more to think about things, be patient, work on yourself, than to go around screaming and yelling (classic overcompensating). Same as Connor. All his bluster wasn't strength, it was weakness. Same as young Tyson. Which is why they burnt the fuck out rather than have long careers like a Lennox Lewis/GSP.

Man, I am pretty bummed about Strickland losing. Because he's the most refreshing champion we've had in a long time. I guess I wanted to see him keep on talking and just sort of see what he would say next. Maybe because I really liked how he's reminding America what it means to be his own man and not afraid to say what's on his mind. There's so many people afraid to stand up or talk about what they really believe in. And now that he's not champion any more, it's just a little bit different.

Dana was never my friend but he was right when he said Strickland won the fight. And he really was sort of robbed. DDP didn't do enough to win the fight. He fought a good fight but it wasn't enough especially as the challenger. Strickland inflicted massive damage.
