The pros for next year is that the contenders l have Europe. Chelsea not having any was a huge factor like LC the year before.

It sucks that Europa is just as fucked as cl with the prize not being 1/100th of it

Have to expect United and City to be better next season........not sure you'd say the same for Chelsea, Pool and Spurs.

even lower lg clubs field weakened sides in lg cup now when they don't get plum ties

its beyond a joke

Agree, United scheduljng will be easier with the team getting game time together. City has a beast team.

Spurs have had 2 great years but you fell they hit their ceiling, Liverpool had no Europe and they finish 4th? Injuries will derail them and they'll be Europe free again.

Chelsea are a old team aren't they? Have a bunch of winners though so they will challenge.

My question is what happens if England fold in Europe again? United winning gave them some respect for the past few years of failure.

distort it whichever way you like

pussied out of lg early to backdoor into cl & got outscored in lg by Bournemouth

2 cups tho

how any self respecting fan could define this yr as a successful season for a club the size of utd is beyond me

You're going off the rails here. No one said that this was a great season; and every United fan on here has acknowledged that performances were underwhelming and that United need to improve significantly this summer.

I said it was successful in comparison to Spurs, City, Pool, and Arsenal. You've got your stock entirely in the league and Champions League, and that's fine--I just don't agree.

Calling the season an "unmitigated disaster," though when they're actually in a better position than Liverpool and Spurs for Europe next season is a huge exaggeration. The Moyes season was an unmitigated disaster. This season was sub-par by Fergie standards and an overall improvement on the entire post-Fergie era.

Klopp is a yr Ahead of schedule

Pep has his front 5 sorted

Poch has all spuds singing off same hymn sheet

Utds a mess

You've got de gea, carrack & zlatan to replace in summer. 3 key parts of your spine.

That's just to get back to this seasons shite level

Luff him, really don't understand the stick the lad gets tbh. Been great for us this year.

Because he's a giant pest to other teams. Running around all over the place, interceptions, tackles. Fouls people a lot and he's not some aimless brute, he does a lot of tactical sly fouls. He always yells at officials after fouls lol. A cunt to play against

But when he's on yours it's great. Every good team needs players like that. Not the most talented but you're not going to out work him. Anders improvement under Mourinho after being completely wasted is one of my favorite positive asepects of this season
@Chris Partlow, you get Ed Woodward's job this summer. Who does United sign, and who gets the boot?

im positive about United for the next 2 months, nobody leaves I love everyone

I've always doubted signing Griezmann and still do but who knows now. Having CL AND a lot of money now really does improve options. I really like him and Bale as players and they would help. Silva/Fabinho from Monaco, maybe Belotti, and a young RB to groom for the future. 1-2 CM/attackers and a RB

LB and CB I think are ok unless they grab someone really top shelf. Maybe Shaw gets it together, but if not Darmian and Blind are passable. I really liked the look of that Mitchell kid too the game before.

I don't really want Keane. Are we really sure he's better than Smalling and Jones?

I don't think Dave leaves. Good rotation in goal.

A good mix of young players and players in their prime, preferably when it comes to age.

I'm going out so I barely even thought this, will look over players soon

Well that's a different conversation, and I'd tend to agree with you here. Back to your point where you said that 6th in the league and lesser cup wins should not be a success for a club like United--and I can actually agree to that statement, but for a different reason.

This goes way beyond a single season. United is right there with/ahead of the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern, etc. in terms of club size and finances. Now, compare their rosters. If Real Madrid finished outside the top 4 with a Copa Del Rey and a Europa title, heads would roll. On paper, United aren't Real, and no one expected those kinds of results with their current squad.

United transitioned from an era with an manager who could get above average players to play like champions into an era where competitors were doing much better financially. Their leaders were aging, as well, and United got caught with their pants down. I think would be fair to label the transfers over the last several years as disastrous.

All that said, I don't think they're far off. They'll have to have a huge summer, though, as their depth is about as thin as it gets. Bringing in a couple worldly attackers is a must, as they're not going to compete for the league title scoring less than 60 goals like they did this season. Adding a couple players to solidify the midfield and a CB who is ready to walk into the starting role, and they're looking much brighter. The thing that worries me is that there are too many players who eventually need to go, and I don't think they can turn it all over in the next 2 windows.

Oh and I'm definitely gonna toot my horn about Sanchez from Ajax. That will be his last game for them. The goat reports come through again, I will miss them.

Maybe Arsenal can buy PTSD on loan so they can navigate their way through Europe against some obscure third world teams with z's and x's in its name.

Klopp got more out of Mane than Mou did from all your wingers combined

And he only played half a season

UTD not winning the league is a castrophe at this point. Them and City were the two contenders, City hasn't fielded its 6/11 of its first team since November

I'm guessing darkside movement will be a little bit more restrained in their predictions next pre season too

lol
