By the way, I received a bollocking for posting images that are (somewhat) related to Football soccer in the PREMIER LEAGUE THREAD.

At the very least, I learned that I should use the spoiler option more often.

FA reveal new rule to retrospectively ban players for diving

The Football Association has confirmed that retrospective punishment for players who dive in games will be introduced next season.

A statement from the FA read: ‘A new offence of ‘Successful Deception of a Match Official’ will be in force from the start of the 2017-18 season, after the regulation change was approved by The FA Council today [18 May] and following a period of consultation with stakeholders over the past few months.

‘Where there is clear and overwhelming evidence to suggest a match official has been deceived by an act of simulation, and as a direct result, the offending player’s team has been awarded a penalty and/or an opposing player has been dismissed, The FA will be able to act retrospectively under its Fast Track system...

It was a dive; and in the future if it's a clear dive, I've got no problems if United players get suspended. Get this sissiness out of the game.

The only issue I have with this rule is if a player goes down too easily when he's being held. Refs won't call it unless the player goes to ground. Theo, for example, was clearly fouled in the box last game but didn't get a call because he fought through it and got an awkward shot off. The problem extends to refs, as well, and the FA needs to address it.
