Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has questioned the worth of the Carabao Cup, calling the competition a "waste of energy" for his side.

Guardiola's views echo those expressed by Manchester United counterpart Jose Mourinho, who said some clubs could be better off without the League Cup.

City's manager made eight changes for Wednesday's 2-1 win at West Brom.

"The prize is good when you win another one, but you waste a lot of energy," said the Spaniard.

City face Crystal Palace this weekend before hosting Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday. They then travel to Chelsea for a league game the following Saturday.

"You can't imagine going to play a Tony Pulis team at West Bromwich Albion, play 90 minutes there in those conditions, and then after three or four hours - bus, come back, three days later Crystal Palace, three days later Shakhtar Donetsk, three or four days later Stamford Bridge," added Guardiola.

"For the managers it is a lot of wasted energy, but we knew that before, so it is not a complaint in those terms. If we have to play we have to play."

I don't even turn on the news anymore, can't stand any of it.

I thought it'd all die down after the election, but it's only ramped up and I just can't be bothered with it lol

Well, you need an actual reason to impeach him, which they don't have.

So unless he steps down, he's going to be president for the next 3 years and 3 months.

One of the main issues is that the MLS sucks donkey dick, and that big time La Liga and Premiere league games come on so early here when everyone is at work.

Used to be an Irish Pub near my house, I remember that was the first time I really got introduced to how big soccer was overseas.

A lot of the guys from Ireland/England/Wales all went there, it was a smaller pub but it had great food. My buddy from Wales worked there, and he would sneak us pints (this is like 8th grade), he ended up passing away in a car wreck a few years back, cool guy.

Also the first time I was introduced to the fact that cunt is apparently ok to say. Went there one day for some games on a Saturday and I knew nothing about football, all the guys already drunk yelling "F'kn cunt" at the TV and it's not even lunch time yet, lmao.
