So he needs to win CL (or domestic league) with a team like Porto/Inter or Arsenal/Spurs?
(or hell say WC with Uruguay/Portugal, decent international team but not really in the giants category)

Make no mistake, he will never train a club that either doesn't have a Top 3 roster or doesn't have the resources to buy a Top 3 roster in a short time. He even wanted to spend a shit ton at Buyern but the club said no to that.

My point is that it is hard to compare his actual coaching skills with other coaches, in fact it is hard to judge his work as a coach in general. AFAIK Luis Enrique won a ton of titles with Barca too, Felix Magath won the double twice with Buyern and had a wayyyyy worse roster than Pep (iirc he also didn't need the ref in the cup finals), Heynckes had a worse roster and won the triple.

So is Pep really that one true football genius and soooo much better than all of the other coaches, or does his success have A LOT to do with the teams he has trained?

hurry the fuck up League and CL return.

Lol. Harden slapping Rustled

I think you may have understood my post, either that or I worded it wrongly. Allow me to try and explain myself . . . .

when I said "who slapping who" I never meant "which one do you want to be the slapper, and which one do you want to be the slappee" I meant "who the fuck are these people you talk of"!

I'm guessing they are some cans who bounce a orange ball on a wooden floor and throw it through a hoop, however here in the prem thread we only discuss the top shelf athletes.

In all seriousness, if you pm me the pictures you want used I will make it when I get back home!

It's 2017 and Jermaine Defoe is starting for England in a competitive match!

Team to face Lithuania: Hart, Walker, Stones, Keane, Bertrand, Dier, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sterling, Alli, Lallana, Defoe.

Overhauling a Club's side is not an easy task. Especially in this new "information age". You cant just come in & Zorro the squad up. You have to give the squad a fair crack at proving their worth. Initially, it's the most important component of a new Coach's intention for earning their trust.

Pep has improved a cpl individual players at City. Raheem & Stones are both better players now than they were. Not significantly better but to completely ignore their progress, however marginal it may be, would be unfair. Gab Jesus looks an amazing prospect & he's got Yaya back contributing which must help the dressing room a little.

His Gundogan signing was risky & has cost him quite dearly so far & Bravo has been a complete bust. No way of disguising this.

Biggest point that i agree with Lewis on is holding significant judgements on Pep & Mou back until at least after the Summer. I'm more inclined to give them a little longer through til Christmas.

A team that already had Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Puyol, Henry, E'to, Yaya etc etc.

He obviously did well to put all the pieces together, but it wasn't a particularly hard puzzle to solve!!!!
Didnt he coach Messi, Busquests etc in the Barca youth teams?
So he deserves some credit for coaching them and making them into the players they are today.

Yeah.

Or they deserve credit for making Pep into the manager that he is today! ;)

Was going to say, looks like John Cena and Bryan Cranston had a love child.

Yeah, a very solid pro. Wasn't helped by being the direct replacement for Ronaldo.

I found out this week that after 10+ years in England, he can barely string an English sentence together.
He'll fit right in on Moss Side then ;)

Perhaps. So this means PSG or Juventus is where he ends up after City? :P

Like Blokey said, Sterling and Stones have improved under Pep. As did Boateng under Pep (or was it some other Bayern cb). Nonetheless while he might not be the best coach in the world, he is doing something right (lets not forget he always had success with Barca's B team. Promoted the team to higher league).

Not all white people look the same ffs!

It's Chris Hansen from the show To Catch A Predator.

To Catch a Predator is an American reality television series that features hidden camera investigations by the television newsmagazine program Dateline NBC. It was devoted to impersonating underage people (generally ages 13–15) and detaining male adults who contacted them over the Internet for sexual liaisons.

Yup.

The media like to spout the narrative "managers are not given enough time in the modern game" when it suits them. Equally when high profile managers don't get instant and on going success they are highly critical and put their job security at risk.

Yeah.

Yeah well City will win the league next season, then we see who was right and laughing!
