I think they will sell him but Liverpool are going to have to pay what they want, and if they don't, they will wait until next summer.

Heard one option United were looking at for Baleba would be the loan for a season (with a decent loan fee) with the obligation to buy next summer. Think PSG did it with Mbappe. Might make sense here too.

Last thing you want is your high profile player sulking around the place, and his value to drop aka Sancho, Garnacho, Rashford imo.

Think Newcastle probably had a big reality check this season. Like their fans seemed shocked Mbeumo and Sesko would chose United over them. Couple of years of progress doesn’t trump decades of success.

Not from what I've heard. Craig Hope has reported plenty of info about it. They always knew Sesko was a long shot and that he wanted Man U. We were favourites for a few hours when our bid went in but it didn't last long. They always thought Sesko would choose Man U if you bid and most Newcastle fans didn't hold much hope of us getting him.

Mbeumo never went past the inquiry stage with his agent and Brentford, and after hearing the numbers involved, they never even tried. No bid was made for Mbeumo. Spurs made more of a move for him than we did.

With what Man U paid, he would have been our record transfer and the second highest earner at our club. 71M and 150K a week rising to 200K a week if you make the Champions League was never happening from us. He's a good player and I would have liked him but he's not worth those numbers to us.

I do think we will struggle next season though, especially at the start. We still need some signings but it will obviously take them some time to get up to speed. It's why I think we need a few ready-made players that have PL experience. It's definitely going to be a weird season for us.

Listening to Howe, it's out of his hands now and there is no chance of him being around the first team at all. He's training away from them and the Saudis are handling the Isak situation.

I would rather see him gone TBH but fuck knows what the Saudi are going to do 🤷‍♂️

Could they be pressuring Isak to accept a big money deal to the Saudi league?

Same fans who thought you’d be signing Yamal, Mbappe and Doue probably.

Likes of Wissa, McGinn and Elanga are probably actually pretty solid enough signings, truth be told, but you kinda want something a bit more sexy too.

Maybe. I think they just don't want to do business with Liverpool. It looks bad and it basically hands them the title for a few years if they do.

Think they would much rather sell him outside of the PL. We all thought that was what was going to happen next season. Isak to Barcelona had been doing the rounds for a while.

There really weren't many of them. They said from the start they wouldn't be doing the big silly signings and that they were going to look to build over a longer period.

PSR wouldn't allow them to do a Chelsea or Citeh anyway.

I think we have made good signings so far. Botman, Tonali, Bruno, and Isak weren't really sexy names when we signed them. They were risks that have mostly paid off.

I still can’t wrap my head around the option to buy. Is it purely an enticement for the club who is taking a guy off their hands that they may be able to get him for a reasonable price the next summer? I’ve rarely seen this work out for the selling club. The player either puts up a stinker of a season, and he gets sent back with a year less on his contract worth even less; or he balls out for his new club, who then gets him on the cheap.
