I've only seen two parking tickets so far. One was on a moving car (driver had driven off with it on his windscreen).
Tourists though they have a way of walking very slowly, weaving left and right like an F1 driver trying not to let you pass, not looking where they're going, and stopping in the middle of the pavement, shop doorway, form a chat circle occupying the whole nine foot pavement etc. I saw one got hit by a car today as she walked out into the middle of the road into it. Only very slowly so she wasn't hurt. The female driver gave her an earful. They walk in the road all the time.
The fashion seems to be mainly middle or upper-middle class 19th century clothes. Merging into mosher stuff at one end, and horror costumes on the other. Then you get like steampunks and other stuff here and there. AFAIK there's no connection between trannies and goth, it's just supposed to be a welcoming and friendly subculture for outsiders so I think that's why there are so many. They're probably not even goth but just select it as a place to do that without getting hassled.
I'm not really into goth but I could be down with the more metal side of things. The 19th century style looks good if it's done classily, although I'm not really a fan of dyed black hair or corpse paint. Don't like the horror outfits.
