Futbol Premier League 2024/25 Thread - v4: Caraboo Cup Final edition - Newcastle Champions

I like Scousers in general and I don't have anything against Liverpool really but what happened? A week ago they were talking about a potential treble. @LEWIS540 you still think Slot is a better coach than Klopp's 97 and 92 points and every cup at least once? Just no real other contenders this season as Arsenal acting like @Chules and City having a season off. The other lot average over the distance as even a terrible Chelsea still at 4th lol

A good but far from great Liverpool is having a cakewalk in the Prem.

Arsenal and Villa will surely get knocked out of the PL.

Prem in shambles. La Liga proving to be the best in the world again.

@blokeybloke

That really a thing? And not (Changy style) made up marketing nonsense to trick people like @Chules into buying 'special edition' kits😸🙉

The fabric is better imo but lets face it, everyone is getting ripped off for these kits these days. Doesn't matter if you get the standard or pro shirts the prices are nuts

One of my favourites…..put in some immense performances against United.

+ remember he missed 2 entire seasons at Milan after just signing, so he played the next year for free.

(Pretty sure I’m remembering it right).

Complete gentleman off the field as well. Very well-spoken and educated.

On top of that, he's a damn good-looking cunt, too. Almost unfair.

Honestly across the board non of the big European clubs seem particularly special right now, including Real, Barca and Bayern…..comparatively of course.

Those Newcastle players like Bruno G and Isak are in a bit of predicament. Could cash in and try and get a move to bigger club, or trust the Newcastle project will pay off in the next 2-3 years.

Look at the reception they got for winning (a let’s be frank) a minor cup. Imagine if they could win a league title in the next few seasons, which is not too far fetched at all.

I don't think Bruno is going anywhere. He signed a new deal just over a year ago, and they will try to get Isak to sign a new contract this summer; if he doesn't sign one, then next summer they will probably sell.

It's going to take a crazy bid to sell him this summer.

Such a lack of #9s out there.

Depends on the player I guess. If he really pushed for a move it’d be hard to turn down 100m for him, I’d imagine. He’s at that age where these are the defining years of his career. No one wants to be a Harry Kane or Bruno Fernandes.

Maybe you’ll qualify for the CL and the Saudis will give you 200m to spend.

Early doors, but next season could be wide open for a team like Newcastle to have a run at the title.

I wonder what the odds are to win the title next between United and Newcastle. Probably pretty close, I’d imagine.

Fuck Newcastle. Liverpool shit the bed. Them steamrolling the barcoded cunts was my last hope. This thread will be even more insufferable with the plastics who never stepped foot in here showing up and the constant dick glazing from @BroRogan

Consider this my last post until we win the PL.

Signing off.

Sincerely,
Chules

He's already won more trophies than Kane did at Spurs <lmao>

I doubt they would sell Isak for 100M especially when you consider the striker options in world football right now, and it looks like Arsenal will spend close to that on Sesko.

As long as we keep everyone this summer, then I think we're only a few players away from being a really good team. Champions League football next year will definitely help. I can see us spending big this summer as that first year drops off the accounts; that is what caused us problems with PSR.

We spent a lot of money in that first year and didn't have anything coming in.

Yeah, you’ve got one of those squads where there’s no real big weaknesses, but almost every position could be upgraded or added to for depth if you really wanted to push on.

We’ve been there a lot in the last decade, and always fucked in the market when the time came.

That’s assuming we’re ranking the League Cup higher than the Audi Cup, which is debatable.

It's not.

The League Cup is one of those that nobody gives a fuck about unless you win it <lmao> it's the Mickey Mouse cup unless you win it, and if you do, then it's a major trophy 😁

Kinda, yeah. Especially (and I swear I’m not taking the Michael) for a club like Newcastle. You still hope it’s the start of the journey not the destination though.

Honestly thought even the FA Cup was a dead competition, but winning that last year was a real high for us (though in hindsight probably fucked us over with the EtH situation) long term.
