Premier League 2024/25 Thread - v3: Happy New Year Edition

Job done for United then, we're so wasteful though - that should've been fucking 5-0 or something. Easy work in the end, hoping for a reasonably easy draw now. Any transfer madness happening?

Mental we haven’t brought in a goal scorer as a priority, even on loan.

Hojlund has been utter wank, even by own low standards, for months now.

Legitimately worse than Ighalo and Weghorst were for us, on current form.

Fact we haven’t proves how dire our financial situation is, I guess.

Spurs paying 50m for Tel?

I know he’s a hot prospect but still, that seems like madness.

Same with United and Yoro.

And these clubs wonder why they are skint.

Money aside, they are using 18 year old midfielder as rb (Gray).
One healthy lb, 4 cb's and one is injured.
2 dmf's and 2 CM's.

Seeing as they concede alot, maybe idk use the money on rb, lb or cb who is able to play fullback or even a great dmf if that is the issue. Looking at the squad they dont need another winger/forward.

See everyone giving Ange a pass because of injuries.

United (and Newcastle) had probably worse last year, but no one gave ten Hag the benefit of the doubt.

Hell, Bournemouth are the worst hit this year, and they are on fire, with a far lower budget.

Just visited Reading for the first time to see one of my friends from uni. Such a dead place lol. Literally nothing there

No wonder their football team is shite

He also seems to be stubborn and change tactics despite the injuries etc. Sure most games are full of action with alot of chances/goals for both teams but as they keep losing and getting closer to relegation spots, fans and media are going to turn on him. Started to see it already.

Yeah, and let’s be honest, we’ve seen them struggle even without injuries.

Guy’s style might work when you’re Celtic in a weak league, but hard to translate in the uber competitive Prem.

Seems like a good person and all but not sure things will work out at Spurs. Maybe he gets sacked and gets rewarded with City job when Pep leaves.

Though i do hope they keep him and stay in Prem. Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score good bets to make.

This is so weird.

95% if Bayern let them go, they ain’t that special.

Toni Kroos was an exception and even that was a bit of an odd one, if memory serves.

Not many other examples recently right (de Ligt and Maz obviously, lol).
He wants a play.

Kroos was such a fumble, wanted a new contract and Bayern brass said he wasn't worth Mario Goetze money....

Tel looking for just a loan and not permanent move apparently

Bayern bought Götze back then and gave him a ton of money, he and Kroos worked with the same agency. Basically they didn't want to pay a proven player what Götze was getting. Fuck them.

Gravenberch seem to have established himself at Liverpool but other than him at least already in their prime (or a little past that) Lewy, Alaba or peaked already Thiago, Pavard, Vidal

And while they did let Kroos go, did get Alonso same summer so worked out for them.

Highly touted prospect who can play as forward, rw or lw you would think they never let him go unless its for over 100m.

Weren’t they largely all old or out of contract, though?

…..grab aside.
