Blue belt is hardest belt because you’re a blue longer than anything else. So many people give up with the blue.

My advice? Work arm drags from guard. You’ll start finding their wrists too.
 
TBF, mate. I like them more for the rustle. Also, just trying to get into the minds of you bigger basketball fans to understand the levels of hate. Been watching basketball Jordan at Chicago Bulls, but never really got into it big.
I really dont hate hate them. Now the Celtics and Spurs on the other hand I hate with an absolute passion. The Celtshits are my most hated franchise in all of sports up with Real Madrid and the Dallas Cowboys.

Arm drags have been a focus the past couple weeks, funny you say that. I'm taking the back off them a lot, easier from half guard i've found. I thought it would be easier from closed guard, but i guess there's a lot of space still when you sit up. Less from half.

I've moved away from my omaplata attacks. i got discouraged from getting stacked and thrown off when i was cutting bad for a tournament, but now that i have like 15 more lbs on me i'm stronger there. Also learned some great ways to control w/o the belt since higher belts usually keep their hips away when they feel it coming. Been working that more, there are so many more attacks from there, plus the sweep obv.

Biggest thing i'm doing at blue over white is controlling the pants. Fuck man, i feel like such a dummy playing top so long and not controlling pants at all times

Smart. Avoiding omaplata and tricky shit like that is wise. Fundamental positions are important. I used to fuck up people that always watched YouTube to do tricky tornado guard and stuff because once I cracked thr one difficult puzzle, I always had the fundamentals.
And half guard is as neutral a position as any, IMO. So many good sweeps once you nail down arm drags and know how to create a bit of space.
