@helax got a feeling Szoboszlai scores next goal, seems to be involved in most Pool chances and just needs one good shot, long range missile ala Toni Kroos.

Ref is allowing them to crack each other. United will take it a step too far and end up a man down by half time.

Mental they basically replaced their entire midfield in one window, and ended up with such a good one.

Meanwhile United spunk a fortune on Mount, Casemiro, Amrabat, Sabitzer, Erikksen etc

Nobody seems to know what was in the release clause but it sounds like it could rise to 55M. Brighton had some extra stuff in there, apparently.

I thought after the Suarez to Arsenal farce, they basically dismissed the release clause between English clubs?

Guess they made them enforceable now?

Which begs the question why do we still get fleeced.

Endo 16m, MacAllister 35m, Szoboszlai 60m. Last two being release clause activated. New midfield for just over 100m, pretty good when you think that these days many players cost 100m

Doesn't seem to happen very often in the PL but they are still around, as far as I know.

The South Americans seem to push for them. Bruno got a new contract but wanted a release clause put in there before he signed it. If the rumours are true then it's only for non-Premier League clubs, though.

…..and got 60m for Fabinho and Henderson.

Same when they got Mane, Salah and Firmino for what United (then Chelsea) paid for Lukaku.

Traded in Coutinho for van Dijk, Alison and Robertson, too.

Can’t argue with that.

Like Kane famously didn’t have one, so ended up wasting an extra 2-3 years at Spurs.

Wonder what the landscape would look like if he went to City in 2020.
