You ruin future windows with this, though, right? I think it's too big of a risk unless you have a lot of sellable assets. You might be able to spend a lot of money in the short term but if the players you buy don't increase in value, or at least hold at what you paid, you're fooked.
Chelsea has a lot of home grown players that they could sell for pure profit, which would bail them out of this craziness.
Yeah, it’s all a bit crap and easily manipulated.
As you say, despite spending a billion, Chelsea are still pretty comfortable after selling Mount, Havertz, Mendy and and Koulibaly, and giving long contracts.
