The announcement of the flag was during the pandemic, but space force talk and development has been going on longer. He sounded like a dolt saying “super duper,” which I’m sure will be the point of focus here. That, and the announcement was made during the pandemic when all of his focus should be there (yet most stations cut away when he talks about it anyways).

Regardless, the impact of space warfare/targeting satellites could be catastrophic, so lagging behind in technology and production isn’t a great idea.
