People say Alex is the hardest hitting sub-HW fighter ever, and I think they may literally have forgotten RUMBLE(rip) existed and before he got his spirit taken by DC twice, he was a force of nature. AJ would have always had a punchers chance, but since both rely on striking and Poatan is lightyears ahead of AJ technique-wise, Alex takes it 9/10 times. Rumble also had no gas tank even at LHW while Poatan has shown no cardio issues.

Rumble was a good wrestler. I think that combined with the threat of his hands, he wins. Would most likely look like the Hardy fight. Or the Manuwa fight where he shot for takedowns alot to then KO the guy when a takedown was excepted.

Rumble wouldn't win a striking battle with Poatan though.

When did Rumble show a bad gas tank at LHW?

He crumbed against DC because DC was mauling him with wrestling.

When he fought Phil Davis and could stuff the TDs, he had no problem keeping the same pace the entire time.

I think it depends on how Rumble would have approached the fight. He had very good wrestling but poor BJJ which wouldn't be a problem against Alex. If he mixed in wrestling I think he would win but Rumble had a bad habit of using or not using wrestling at the right times.

I don't think Rumble has a chance. The biggest thing that goes unnoticed about Alex that might be his most underrated attribute is his footwork.

I think Rumble would hyperextend and gets KO. I think its very hard to get Alex with wild shots. The people who got him are FAST, not people with KO power.

Would be a banger fight. Alex would have to slip up badly for Rumble to capitalize though otherwise I see Alex winning by UD.
