you've got the holy trinity of modern boxing gloves right there

winning 16oz
grant 16oz
cleto reyes 16oz

Care to compare these gloves? They all look pretty new. Let me guess, you use the Cletos for sparring and the Winning on the bag :icon_twis ? I know I would :icon_chee

Yes sure iv had the winnings two years and they still look brand new only the laces got real dirty but i recently washed the laces and the gloves look unused and brand new amazing quality will last years. These are the most protective glove out the three & lightest, you can make a good fist & open your palm to a certain extent and nice wrist protection but not better than the grants or cletos. They are like pillows and people certainly dont mind getting hit with them. A bit of a disadvantage if your sparring some one with a crappy no name cheap gloves IMO, which is why i got the grants and only really use the winning for heavy bag and pad work and my hands have thanked me for it.

The grants iv has about a year and IMO perfect for sparring not soft and pillow like, but not like your wearing brass knuckles either i have had no complaints from sparing partners. The leather smells real nice and the stitching is ok but not better than winning & the cletos. You can open your palm all the way in the grants and make a real good fist & always land on your knuckles and they have a snug fit . They are fun to sparr with because they are very light and compact and slim lined, good for getting through someones defence. The quality is very good but not as good as the winnings & cletos the paint is starting to peel off a little on the glove, but they look sexy. Also these are definitely hand made because the right and left glove are different, the left glove fits me perfect and the right glove is tight as hell, painfull sometimes in the thumb area which was very disappointing. If the two gloves fit the same the grant would have been the perfect sparring glove for me offensive & defensively.

The cleto's i have had about two months, i did own the velcro version & hated them i have big hands and they were roomy so i sold them on ebay. I thought id give them another chance and got the lace up version & im glad i did these gloves are a work of art they smell beautiful. The lace ups are snug in the hand department compered to the velcro's IMO for some reason which i like. You can make the best fist out the three in the cletos, but let me tell you, you can feel your knuckles through these gloves definitely a punchers glove. I sparred a fair few times in these now and only had one complaint, excellent wrist protection u cant open your palm in these tho, the stitching is second to none & the leather is soft. I can imagine these will last years. I sparr twice a week & wear the cletos for one session were i like to brawl & i wear my grants for the second session were i like to box. Any one would be pleased with owning any of these gloves.. But IMO

1: winning because its an all round glove u can use for every think & will last years.
2: cleto reyes brawler's glove love them will last years works of art
3: grants would have been number two.. but the two gloves fit different & the quality is not as good as the other two. But fun to sparr with & look sexy as hell.

Thank for the comparisons, bro. Out of the Grants and Reyes, which do you prefer on the bag?

I gotta say the grants better protection and more compact, i would not use the reyes on the bag the thumb is in a strange place & sticks out a bit. You could jam it on the bag, reyes great for sparring tho.

Does any body recommend zepol gloves?

They are more springy; people buy them mainly for the fact that you can customize the colors for cheap. Not much wrist protection, hand compartment is big, but not too big. Well constructed, but nothing special.

You'll have to sort through the Mexican Boxing Equipment thread if you want more details.

Thanks mate , i dont really need no more gloves but id love to get get some custom gloves the zepols seem value for money. Grant customs are just ridiculous the money there asking.
