Well, I think the liberal side has drifted hard into the idea that learning to express oneself is an end in itself as a political act. Which is a self that can be expressed and fleshed out through consumption. The alt right is a reaction, of other oppressed people, to that ideal as represented by the oppressed liberals into what is essentially the greasers vs the jocks.

Yep I'd agree that's pretty much it, I think the alt right is an inevitable consequence of the socially liberal but economically conservative capitalist mind-set that's dominated much of the mainstream in recent years. If economic oppression is glossed over and instead oppression is characterised as only being the result of bigotry then it makes sense that straight white men who don't find a slot for themselves on the liberal side will find it elsewhere.

Call me cynical as well but I think this is very much a deliberate thing, creating as aggressive a partisan environment as possible helps to make sure that the status quo economically remains the same and that's really what those at the top care about most.

TBH there are surely a lot of people with niche fetishes or dangerous urges for whom porn is an outlet, who would otherwise be out there roaming the streets looking for someone you or I care about. I think the incel phenomenon is something distinct from that.

The economic, political and social struggles of a particular demographic appear have been "radicalized" into hate of Stacys and Chads by certain cesspools of the internet.

2: I think porn is actually detrimental to incels because it makes them think that all women are supposed to act the way women do in porn. Furthermore, it reinforces their objectification of women and reinforces their belief that they are entitled to have whatever they want without having to work at it. With porn, whatever you want is at your fingertips. They expect women they want to fuck to be at their fingertips as well. Many of them are just normal guys who refuse to do anything to make themselves fuckable. They just need a lesson in working out, dieting, and not processing their hatred for black people on the first date, and they would get laid.

I decry incels and I definitely do not share any common views with them. I think many are just whiny cunts who were babied too much and need to go out and learn how to succeed and how to fail.

They’re the same guys who use aim bots and other mods in online games. They’re so afraid of failing because they have never learned to put anything on the line and deal with the consequences of doing so, whether that is success or failure. In fact, guys who cheat in online games are the perfect analogy and probably the same demographic.

They can only participate if the deck is stacked in their favor. Otherwise they might be made to look foolish. And they certainly have never put the time and effort in to become really good at something.

That was essentially the question but as usual, a lot of posters here go on some weird tangents unrelated to the question in the OP. I asked because there was a thread last week about the UK or somewhere banning porn or having a government paywall or something and a lot of people thought it was a good thing. Porn's definitely a bad thing for relationships but I wondered if it does lower sex crimes by giving guys their "fix".

I'm generally against porn, but it occurred to me that it might not be a bad thing for incels. The way dating is set now with apps and such, the top maybe 15% of guys are smashing the majority of the women rather than pairing off as 1/1 couples like they used to so as it is with income, the "distribution" of poon is skewing towards more for the top and less for the bottom.

I remember I stopped watching porn entirely once and after a few weeks was a walking boner looking for a hole, whereas before I'd rather get laid than not but was overall pretty indifferent. I lucked out and dated some chicks that were up for plowing several times/day but what if I had that same horniness and was a manlet or fat or something and didn't have anywhere to put my constant boner? When it comes to lessening incel rage, is it better to keep guys with unrealistic expectations from women but indifferent to personal interactions overall, or hornier with lower expectations?

Porn is horrible for incels a lot of those rapist and killers are addicted to pornos.

Even the guy you see who say that girl is fat, or ugly or masculine, are incel types they dont have much interaction with real women so they only see airbrushed women on tv, magazine and internet and think if a girl has some freckles or some stretch marks she is ugly or gross.
