Popular Films You Have Never Seen

Heat > goodfellas

Godfather 2 > goodfellas

I could go on.... Goodfellas is great but not the best movie imo

Lots. I stopped going to the movies a long time ago unless it was with a chick or something truly special like Fury Road or Blade Runner 2049.

"although Groundhog Day and Grosse Point Blank are two of my favourite films." rather out of context quote there.

The Jack Reacher movies!
I'm a big fan of the novels, but having tiny Tom Cruise as Jack is an abomination. Reacher is a massive man with an intimidating aura about him. They should have cast an unknown for the part whose appearance and style matched the character (as happened when casting for Bond in Dr No), not a pretty little movie star.
I like Tom Cruise (he's a great leading man) and these might be good movies, since the source material is so good, but I can't bring myself to watch them as the hero must be so dramatically different from the books.
Casting Stalone as Judge Dress was bollocks too.

None of the Harry Potters
No LOTR after the first one nor the Hobbits
Any American Pie

Inception. Watched the first 15 minutes then turned it off.
Laurence of Arabia
The Big Lebowski

I actually barely saw leaving las vegas today.

I consistently watch 4-5 movies a week, so I go through tons of movies and will give most movies a chance. But these movies I have boycotted just because either I didn't like the previous movies of the franchise or they are just stupid.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4th one onward.
Harry Potter after the 2nd one.
The last hobbit movie
50 shades franchise
Twilight franchise
Most horror movies with no name cast
Cheesy RomComs

Not sure about that, I think he could have pulled off a more serious version of the character and indeed did in parts of that film which is a strange mix of reasonable effective hard sci fi and lame clichéd buddy action, plus of course everything exploding at the end for no explainable reason.

If you were a fan of the Dredd comics, you'd appreciate the horror at casting Stallone.
Actually, you never see Dredd's face, but in the movie we see Stallone's face constantly. Why? Because it was purely a vehicle for him and his star power. And it failed miserably.
I guess if you watch it (and the Reacher movies) without prior knowledge of the source materials, you can appreciate them without any bias or expectations, and judge them fairly. But i couldn't do that for these two.

2000 AD was pretty much the only comic I read much growing up so I'm pretty familiar(although no expert), casting him might have pushed towards showing his face but really it didn't need to, the problem was more really the kind of film they were looking to make which would have been an issue with anyone in the role.

The recent version being a much smaller production obviously benefited from being able to stay closer to the source material and not desend into typical action clichés.

I've only seen the first Godfather film. Gave up on super hero films about 7-8 years ago.

I have been so let down by hyped up movies lately. I think Rotten Tomatoes is paid off now to inflate scores. 5 years ago it was pretty good, but avg movies getting upper 90s when cult classics get shit on is silly.

Get Out - seemed like it would be overrated.

Any of the Bourne movies
