International Pope Francis has died BREAKING - New Pope Elected - American Cardinal Robert Prevost becomes Pope Leo the XIVth

Is there a particular orthadox?
Their theology is all the same so Greek Orthodox Russian Orthodox you name it....

The most impactful book I have ever read aside from the Bible is "" The mystical theology of the Eastern church". That book changed my life so profoundly and still continues to do so. It is a genuine scholarly work revealing only the theological positions from the Russian Eastern Church and the Catholic church that are designed to grow spirituality.

It contrasts Christian spirituality with pagan polytheism and also the Catholic faith but in a very respectful way, especially looking at the spirituality that develops between the three systems.

That book is literally dripping with spiritual power. It transmits spiritual power and each theological position or approach that is described initiates you into the Christian path.

That book is a Russian book.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. I have read many theological books. Cheers man

You have to defend Sola Scriptura.

Because that's the premise your entire argument is based on. You think you can only get understanding about the scripture from the scripture... that's called sola cripture. I know you've never heard of that, but it's the entire foundation of your entire theological framework. And it is directly heretical.

It doesn't exist anywhere in the Bible and never was spoken about ever in the entire history of the church until Luther.

If you can't defend Sola Scriptura you can't defend anything you think about the Bible because you don't know what it means.
Eph 1:6-9. From Paul's pen. Pray to God that you would no longer be blind. The traditions of men lead you to death.

You might liike that book man. It is widely revered in the Orthodox faith and extremely powerful.

That
Eph 1:6-9. From Paul's pen. Pray to God that you would no longer be blind. The traditions of men lead you to death.

That scripture doesn't say you can or should only pull from scripture.

Did you quote the wrong scripture on accident?

Ephesians is likely not from Paul’s pen.

I could not image how the Right wing would react if Biden as VP shook Pope's hand and he died less than 24 hours later? FOX would devote their reports covering satan stories around the clock. Remind people that Italian PM visited Trump last week and Trump saying he would head to Italy under the request of Italian PM also a hard right conservative. He even said after the Pope passed he said I am happy to represent the Country at the Pope's Funeral. Who says anything Happy at someone who had died? The day before he had an Easter post where he said the radical liberals even radical Liberals I wish them a good Easter? Seriously? Could he not say wishing everyone a wonderful Easter and left it at that again seriously?

Fair enough — I should have said “I’m tired of hearing about how bad everyone is and that wasn’t the same as when I grew up. I don’t like the way the church is right now so I’m out. I feel like it’s charged a ton and not for the better. It’s probably the churches I’ve been to, but I’ve tried many and still found myself wanting”.
I definitely remember feeling the same. For me, it was Literalism that I needed to escape from. Like, growing up I sort of thought that you either had to literally believe Jesus was also God, literally believe he was born of a virgin, literally believe he resurrected for our sins, and if you found that it implausible then you had to believe it was all worthless bs.
Like it was either one or the other.

Personally, I think it’s good to explore a totally different religion. Not necessarily to convert to it or anything—just because it helps you see the message in your own sometimes. A book like “Living Buddha, Living Christ” by Thich Nhat Hanh might be good for you.

I don't know if ya'll heard, but apparently according to the left, JD Vance killed him.

I’ve explored Eckert Tolles work a lot and relate to it.

Not to derail, I think Francis had it 100% right in that there are many paths to God. My only gripe was as the head of the Catholic Church, it goes against something as fundamental as the apostles creed.

As I grow older, I grow more confident in the greater world and more confident that no religion has it 100% correct.
