People have been complaining for a couple decades now about the cost of living. Especially how you can't afford kids unless both parents are working, but then one parent's income goes to daycare, so why are they even working in the first place?

Well if you used to have 1 bread winner and 1 home maker, and things cost twice as much, then shouldn't the obvious answer be to simply add another bread winner to the marriage?

Gender roles don't have to play into it. Have 2 females and 1 male, or 2 males and 1 female. Whatever you're into. As long as 2 people have jobs and the 3rd takes care of the kids. And you all bang each other. Because finances, obviously. Bang for your financials.

I'm gonna pass.... Not being a poor, the one wife is enough and I'm not into dudes.

But if you feel like you need to include a woman to slam some boy hole, get after it.

Yeah it's not for everyone. We sherdoggers can obviously afford a regular marriage.

But for all the poors out there, they just need to get another husband/wife in the house. Simple really.

Most obvious problem is it leads to raising children that are not your own.

i know your post is tongue in cheek but I do know of a Native American academic who proudly touts polygamy, not just because it was her people's way but also because of the divorce and misery rates of married couples. She does make great, great, valid points about how the idea of conventional marriage is shoved down our throats "in every movie and every pop song" meaning she thinks we're brainwashed but personally, the idea of polygamy, personally (even as a native american) just sounds fucking weird. Ya, I know most people cheat at some point anyways but the idea that you're being so intimate with someone who's been around seems nasty and classless to me. Maybe it's the colonization but I've never liked the Indian women I knew when they were what I'd consider loose and promiscuous. I thought it was just because my folks are so poor and full of dysfunction but maybe not, maybe polygamy is the way tribal peoples often lived.

I also think it was weird, this lady's idea that kids were pretty much looked over by the entire tribe, like fucking a herd of animals, but.., I wouldn't know, she would know better than I how her tribe behaved.

i do agree, this way of living isn't natural or even realistic no matter what the rest of us have to say. The lady I mentioned made points that the "nuclear family" is an ethnocentric way of life that was foisted upon us so that we become good citizens and property tax payers. She has her points for sure and it's been food for thought but for whatever reason, the shit sounds backwards and I don't think it's just because I'm brainwashed.

Hell no. It's hard enough dealing with 1 wife, no way I could put up with 2.

Forget about there being another dude. He'd get murdered within minutes. Imagine coming home hungry and you find out he ate your dinner...oof

Sounds like you're just angling to bang other dudes...

OR, now hear me out, wages are increased to match the same percentage of inflation that C suite folks received from the 80's to present.
I would have thought that if there was a single concrete lesson that the world had learned over the last five years or so... is that printing more money doesn't lead to prosperity, it just leads to massive inflation.

Two problems: (1) Two+ wives means you have to work and pay for two+ households. Makes finances worse.

(2) Chicks are only into polygamy with well-off dudes. All you poor people would get shut out in this new reality.
