Definitely Ngannou and Werdum. DC is old and shop-worn. Idk about the rest.

Stipe has two wins against significant prime HW fighters: Francis and Werdum. Cormier was a significant win against a non-prime HW (age 40, almost retired).

Even though Cormier is 40 its hard for me to say he's past his prime as he's still competing at such a high level.

Anyone who says dc is past his prime is insane. I hate DC but he was pushing a pace, throwing bombs, eating bombs, and the slamming stipe. no ordinary 40 yr old could ever do.

Other than Gus and Jones he never really took much damage in fights so even at 40 he is still primed and ready to fight and it isn't like 40 is the magic number.. It can vary for different people. He was not out of prime when he fought Miocic.

Werdum and DC were 40 years old when Stipe beat them.

Sure, Werdum looked good beating Cain. DC looked good beating Rumble and Gustaffson. They were still very good fighters and very capable but they were both far past their physical primes.

4o years old is way past your prime. to suggest otherwise is insane. stop using sherscience.

Physical prime, definitely.

Prime as a fighter, not always. Experience counts.

Look at his heavyweight physique and speed from Strikeforce to now. He's clearly past his prime.

He also only lost to Stipe because he doesn't have good cardio at heavyweight anymore.

He beat Ngannou when he was abit green. I think Ngannou beats him in the rematch.

That's a statement to his greatness but he's still human

Lol doesnt mean he's better equipped to do it at 40 than when younger!

That's like saying Fedor isnt past his prime because he still got a win last weekend.

No, Cormier had just KO'd Stipe, demolished BB, you don't get to fall back on "he lost" as being not in his prime.

DC was smoking Stipe, just coulnd't finsih the job then Stipe adjusted.

stipes best win is ngannou for sure. even then he only survived the fight and won because of ngannou being near death due to exhaustion. he beat dc because well dc is middle aged and way past his prime.

Cormier/Werdum for me.

Thought about Ngannou, but it's selling him short. He will get better, so how can he be in his prime? That's a wrong choice.

It's kinda like... Which fighters were between ages 26-36 when they fought Stipe? I personally picked Francis and Nelson(even if Nelson may have been outside of that window, he was doin' great back then) Cause I've heard that heavyweights seem to fight time better. Francis will get better though, as will the new breed, but unfortunately, it's impossible to know how much better and where he'll rank in the future. But he'll probably be somewhere top 8 for years to come.
