Is Adesanya the greatest striker in UFC history?

He also went on a 6 fight skid when this style backfired. You can't cherry pick hailing him when he was great and ignoring him when he wasn't.

That would be like hailing izzys defensive brilliance but ignoring the fact it sometimes creates boring fights.
After breaking his leg in half.

Needs a few more years of dominance to catch Anderson. People tend to forget that Anderson held the belt and was the top striker in the sport until he was about 500 in Pride years.

Anderson
Conor
Poatan
Lawler
Liddell
Wand
Leban
Stann
Nate Diaz

Wonder boy
Strickland
Johnny Walker
Rothwell

Askren
Izzy

from the top down.. not bad

Adsenya KO’d the only ever 2 division Glory Kickboxing Champion History.

Adesanya has a very strong argument as the greatest striker in UFC history

View attachment 978290

Weak AF.

He was KO'd twice by the only ever 2-division Glory Kickboxing Champion.

I mean, come on, "the only ever" Glory Kickboxing Champion is 3-1 over Izzy and overall wins, and 2-1 over Izzy in KO's.

Ray Charles can see who "the better striker" is.

For that matter, even in the last fight, Pereira had a 63% accuracy ratio, Adesanya only 31%.

Izzy caught Alex, no doubt, but he was getting pieced-up until that point.

So funny,

Izzy aims for the cheap shot "spot", the EDGE of the legal rules, if not... over it...
and then acts like he "out struck" Alex on the feet.

No.

Conor dropped Aldo one punch.
Diaz dropped guys with body work.
Silva mucked many people easily, even ended Irving at 205 with a single punch.

Y'all are casuals who believe the UFC hype,
then deny izzy lost 3 times... because he cheap shot's Alex
(well twice if you count the end of round 1 in the previous fight... again, same behind the head cheat shot)

Weak striking behavior.

Had Izzy kicked to a finish... different conversation.
Izzy is one-trick pony at this point.
So was Tank Abbott.

Let's be real here.

There's plenty of great strikers who don't have long limbs and kickboxing background.

Catch up.

K1 has been around a long time.

We are talking about ufc and he’s a two weight champ, soon to be 3 perhaps

In no universe is Conor a better striker than Pereira in MMA, either.

He also never faced another striker the caliber of Izzy.
Conor got KO'd by Diaz, and twice by Poirier, neither of whom could make champion, let alone kiss Izzy's ass as an opponent or striker.

how is a guy that got lit up on the feet by Chael Sonnen number 1

Who got his career ended by Chris Weidman?

You're just fooled by his highlight reel knockouts.
{<jordan}<{MingNope}>

You talk about being fooled by highlights,
yet use the most hilarious argument.

First off,
Silva fought Izzy, and Izzy didn't do shit. It was well after Weidman. Silva fought recently, weidman did not. Dumb.

Second,
Silva hid his injury, and FINISHED Chael in CHAEL'S world. Wrestling. Terrible example number two.

Izzy couldn't finish Silva.
Silva and GSP couldn't finish Nick friggin Diaz,
yet Robbie Lawler finished and was finished by Nick Diaz.
Weidmann "finished" Silva TWICE ... so Izzy is not even as good as Weidmann,
since Silva was trash and didn't have decent competition ... "compared to thin izzy"
{<doc}

My favorite is Anderson Silva, he's finished opponents with every limb he has and always exciting ways, no one has topped his energy in the cage, although I will admit the strikers he fought weren't the best. I'm trying to think of anyone who's finished anyone in the UFC as high level of a striker as Pereira standing like Izzy did. To me Izzy and Pereira are 1-1 and finished each other standing so I said top 3.

The best striker in the UFC even though he's lost 2 fights via getting KO'd in one and getting technically outstruck in 4 out of 5 rounds in another.

Sorry, doesn't add up to me.

lol Ok you win. Btw take a chill pill.
<BC1>

Yes,

we can sense the obvious sarcasm toward that moron.

He definitely didn't win using that casual straw man rebuttal.

Silva lost to Jake Paul (his punch line).
Jake Paul FINISHED Woodley AND Askren... didn't finish Silva.
Jake Paul & Izzy ... couldn't finish Silva.
Chael .... couldn't finish Silva.
Weidman ... finished Silva.

Thin izzy wouldn't get past Carlos Newton.

In fact, Izzy vs Bj Penn at same height/weight....
Bj stands in the pocket, without walking into Lizzy's counter crap.
Don't recall Prime Bj Penn getting knockout cold,
yet Penn is laid out in streets weekly (these days)

The entire "izzy had better competition" is hilarious.
Gastlelum is prelims now. Animal fighter, but he's back on prelims.

you want me to son you again kid?

You're trying to down play what Sonnen did to Anderson - He dropped him multiple times

And your'e trying to blow up what Kelvin did to Izzy - when he didn't drop him once.,

Hilarious. Your garbage takes probably work on 99% of these shertards who only remember results. I remember the detail what actually went on
<YeahOKJen>

Dying laughing that you're serious and NOT TROLLING.

Chael was a wrestler, who got subbed, while in dominant position, in his own skillset / world.
Do you hear your own shit ?

Who references Chael/Silva as a striking battle.

Weidman one-punched Silva,
Izzy and chael couldn't finish.
Even after rounds and rounds of hitting cleanly hitting Silva.

Was Silva' iron chin for Izzy? O
Was Silva iron chin for Chael?

Was Silva glass chin for Weidman?

"son you again kid?"

Completely oblivious to the reality of your own argument.
Calling people son and kid... yet talking and thinking like one.

Casual, confirmed.

Way to move the goalposts.

When Adesanya was winning most of their last three fights until the KO.

Sherbums were all like stop the cope and only the end result matters.

Well same rules apply here

Anderson was the champion for like 7 years straight and won nearly all his fights via pure striking.

If guys like Bj Penn, Frankie Edgar were at MW, the discussion would be a different.
If Silva or izzy ended people at lighter weights (the way he did at 185/205),
people would not be discussing him right now.

Did what thin izzy couldn't do.

Did what Chael, couldn't do.

Did what Jake Paul, couldn't do.

Did what Nick Diaz, couldn't do.

Did what nobody could do.

KO'd the GOAT striker of the UFC.

Showing us once again, these arguments will never add up.
Thin Izzy is over-rated, and a good k1 kickboxer. So is Alex.

The most interesting part of this thread...
nobody seems to mention older fighters or lighter-weight fighters.

The best strikers were in the lighter weight divisions.

Fact.
