POLL: How strong is the argument for Adesanya being the best striker in UFC history?

Is Adesanya the greatest striker in UFC history?

You think Chael would even land a punch on Izzy?

Chael Sonnen could certainly knock down Adesanya in striking. Not because he is a better striker than Adesanya, but because he was a very good and rather crafty wrestler. You talk about Sonnen-Silva in terms of a boxing or kickboxing match rather than as an MMA fight.

He's in the conversation. But why does everyone have to "be the GOAT"? If the sport lasts 300 years (or 800+ years like gladiatorial combat), what are the odds that we are living in the same era as the greatest "of all time"? Why not phrase the question more reasonably? Something like "Do you think Adesanya is one of three best strikers in the UFC's history (so far)? Why or why not? Who would you include in that group or rank above him?

Maybe my standards are too high for Sherdog (?) Maybe I should just expect more thinly veiled homoerotic threads about "jacked" fighters with lots of shirtless pics and open hatred of women in MMA (?)

I have him in the top 3 all-time definitely. Off the top of my head Anderson, Izzy, McGregor, Aldo, Jones, TRT Belfort, Ngannou.

Anderson Silva is #1 in the entire sport by a wide margin. He literally did matrix shit in there. He was ducking punches before they were even thrown, it was like he could control his opponents mind and make them do whatever he wanted.

Top 3 imo. Anderson Silva would be #1. Adesanya would be either 2 or 3.
I feel like silva was much like Roy jones Jr in that his game relied so much on incredible reflexes and his fundamentals weren't all that great.

You're a shertard, you're easily lost

Take it easy for you, let's go 1 thing at a time

Let's start with
- address the fact Anderson got dropped multiple times by Chael Sonnen, who isn't even know for his striking.

One thing at a time shertard, I believe in you!
Oh come on now, you're projecting again. We talked about this big guy.

He also went on a 6 fight skid when this style backfired. You can't cherry pick hailing him when he was great and ignoring him when he wasn't.

That would be like hailing izzys defensive brilliance but ignoring the fact it sometimes creates boring fights.

Answer the question. All I want you to do is explain how Anderson is best striker ever but he also got dropped multiple times by chael sonnen.

Stop avoiding, just answer.

Israel has never even fought, much less defeated, an offensive wrestler on Sonnen's level (twice).

We'll see how his striking looks when he has to fight Khamzat or Nickel.
He got taken down by Alex pereira and close to rag dolled by Whittaker in their second fight

Dude just log off and jerk your micropeen on your own time.

1-3

Lol you shertards really have to band together because you cant answer a simple question like "how is Anderson the best ever when he got lit up and dropped by Chael Sonnen"?

It's just a question lol. An easy one at that.

You
how is a guy that got lit up on the feet by Chael Sonnen number 1

Who got his career ended by Chris Weidman?

You're just fooled by his highlight reel knockouts. You fail to realise these came about by his hands down chin out style - which work marvelous on average strikers.

As soon as he fought anyone good that style failed and he went on a skid

Izzy is the best, he barely gets hit ever, puts the most intimidating guys into defensive shells who can't do much of anything (Rob 2, Marvin, Costa, Cannonier) and when people want to strike with him, he has better hands (Alex, Rob 1)

He also went 5 rounds with a 2x glory champ, ko'd him in 2 in the rematch, Ko'd him in 2 in kickboxing - only fort him to rise from the dead and KO him back ("he got given a standing 8 count and saved " - Joe Rogan) and had a close decision loss to this same guy

Quality of opponent is key - Anderson fought no one remotely as skilled as Poatan and Rob.

lmao, and do we mention pre UFC? Izzy has had over 100 pro combat sports wins, does Anderson?

Its not even a contest. Izzy competed in pro boxing and WON hs record is 5-1. Anderson lost to Jake Paul.
I'm a supporter of your subjective truth that you've confused as objective truth, maybe don't try so hard next time

Go read my comment again and you'll see I only said your revisionist made up history you used to dismiss Israel's 3 losses completely undermines any point you're trying to make.

Silva knocked Sonnen out in the second fight.
