Political Betting Thread

Omg so mad I didn't come in this thread til now. I could've voted on debate props?!?!? Fuckkkk

"Nobody has more respect for women than I do." - Donald J. Trump

For some reason, this debate kinda sucks. The second debate seemed more "fun." One hour into this 2-hour debate, and they're kind of talking about the same shit they talked about in the previous two debates. I'm still waiting for new things to be said.

----------

Trump called her a liar at 36 minutes in.

Trump mentioned Bernie Sanders and Hillary mentioned Bernie Sanders within 60 seconds at the 78 minute mark.

Trump mentioned Ronald Reagan at the 88 minute mark.

I didn't hear either of them mention Obama Administration nor Bill Clinton. Trump said "Bill," but not his full name; he mostly referred to Bill as "her husband."

Regarding the closing statement, Trump totally blew it. He was supposed to state his case of why he should be president, but instead attacked Hillary.

No idea who "won" this debate. I was expecting something epic for some reason. Kind of like a GSP fight, in that we get super excited to see him fight, then he gets in the octagon and we realize that he still isn't going for the finish.

True.

Forgot to mention that your bet of Bill Clinton -350 sounds good as well. I just get scared of paying that much juice on any type of prop.

Yeah, I don't love these on their own for the price either. I always mix them into parlays (additionally because of how low they're maxed).

The bet's still pending but I assume the parlay including Bill missed. He said "her husband" about 100 times, so the thought was right, I just couldn't predict that he was training to never say Bill's full name this time!

Still watching debate. I think Trump still has a chance to win this election.

I'm so glad I'm not American, that was pure aids.

You had Trump bringing up the emails and the James O'Keefe undercover videos proving Clinton caused violence at rallies (of which both are undeniable facts), only for Hilary to COMPLETELY ignore them and steer the conversation straight to women accusing Trump of sexually abusing them, even though they're just accusations at this point, and talking about it like he's already been proven guilty for it and he's some animal who should be jailed for rape.

Trump could have buried her if he just brought up those undercover videos more and didn't let her dodge the questions. Instead he just keeps digging himself into holes and making a twat of himself with multiple contradictions. Fucking hell he's an idiot.

Eurgh, that made me uncomfortable. Trump is a douche who doesn't know what he's doing, but Hilary's a corrupt, scumbag criminal - yet she can get away with BREAKING THE LAW and blatantly lying, but Trump gets blasted for just saying some stupid shit.

You're all fucked.

Is this relevant to betting?

I really love those OH and IA lines. So many times this cycle I have wished I had a BR set up for politics. Didn't think there would be so many opportunities.

Very interesting that you quoted my non-betting summary of the debate, but not @PuertoRican's, which was posted earlier. You should be a debate moderator.

Definitely believe these lines will be lower when they're repopulated. Clinton sitting at -650 now, I assume that's going to come down but no more massive swings. I'd actually like to be able to bet Clinton in a few states but she was totally juiced pre-debate.

I live in an extremely 'liberal' place, and I hadn't paid attention to the election at all, so, based on what everyone said, I expected Trump to get crushed when I watched the first debate.

I actually thought he won easily. Clearly in terms of actual use of logic (though I don't expect this to have a big impact on the public), and even rhetorically I favored him. Is Clinton's dismissive attitude really more palatable to the public than Trump's trolling style?

I'm putting some cash on Trump as a 5 to 1 dog. There seems to be way more bias on Hillary's side of the line. This could be another Brexit situation.

I'm backing Trump at those odds too

I only watched the 2nd and 3rd debates. I think this is all but over and Hillary has it in the bag. I like a good dog bet at long odds but I wouldn't stab trump at 5-1.

Hillary will get pretty much all the women in the US and I have to think all the minorities as well.

It could just be my Canadian sensibilities but I think Trump came off looking inexperienced and unprofessional in the debates.

Hillary is just going to grab him by the dick...

Believe it or not, I think those two things are part of his allure. A section of America is sick of your stereotypical lying, fraudulent politician and Hilary Clinton is literally the poster child for that type of politician in every way.

But yeah he'll probably lose. They both are disgusting, whatever

I agree.

We Americans are a weird population these days. We get so offended by crude words but pretty much ignore white collar crime and blatant corruption. We lecture other countries on how to live but ignore the corrupt marriage we have here of government business and media. We lecture other countries on human rights while we topple leaders, invade countries and launch missles from drones like we are playing a video game.

The loss of life the last 16 years caused by the decisions of Bush Jr Obama & Clinton is staggering. And I really fear more to come. But hey, we can't have a guy in office who talks about grabbing pussy. We have to draw the line somewhere I guess.

Please do your research if you are planning on a Trump win bet. There is a reason he's +500 and all election forecasts have him at 8-15% chance of winning. Republicans are at an electorate disadvantage right out the gate and he's getting torched in swing states.

Wisconsin +12
Minnesota +5
Michigan +6 - +13 (iffy polling)
Ohio Tie
Virginia +9
Pennsylvania +4
Florida +4
Nevada +7
Colorado +8
North Carolina +2
Iowa is all over place

He has to win the majority of these without losing states that usually go red but are in play this year (Arizona, Utah, Georgia etc).

That is a hole too deep even at +500.
