well to go up in belts for baret yoshida, you have enter a tournaments. for every 4 submissions you get over ppl of same belt and rank class you go up a belt. so yea...hard.

Going for submissions is art and unfortunately in a tournament you are doing a sport. Nobody really cares how you win if you end up first on the podium. Having said that I always look to finish, but I will make sure to get my points before doing so. If your opponent gives you an opening it's often much better to secure your points instead of trying to catch him.
