Plumbing bros, I need advice

I fixed it.

Apparently on some valves they have an anti-scald feature. It limits how far you can turn it to hot. I guess it's to prevent small children from accidentally burning themselves.

So I had to take the handle off and get to the cartridge, then I could turn off the anti scald thing.

Now my children will be scalded. And I will tell them to stop being bitches.

2025, year of the child abuser.......

I was gonna say you can turn the temp up on the heater. If it's air bound, you should hear a knocking somewhere and can turn off the main and open the all the faucets in your house and outside, and then reopen the main and close from the low point to the high point to flush the air after a steady flow of water comes out. Sediment shouldn't be an issue on a new water heater, but there's plenty of youtube vids on how to flush that if it's a problem later on. If you have daughters, their 30+ min showers are great for draining the tank in the winter. Or maybe you just have a wife like mine who decides it's a great time to wash the dishes whenever I say I'm gonna get a shower.

Stop flushing all the toilets at once when they are in the shower.

Is somebody else running hot water during their showers?

Flushing toilets shouldn't effect the temperature towards colder, they'll effect the pressure and possibly increase temp in a shower as cold water is drawn for the flush.

If it's just the heater you replaced, and one shower is always fine, doesn't make sense.

Ask some of the guys in the NBA thread they're experts on plumbers.
