Please cut Gastelum !

He needs to go on Ozempic, he clearly has an eating disorder - i think alot of fighters have eating disorders tbh. I lost 40lbs in the last 3 months on Ozempic, i train MMA but am no where close to being a pro fighter - but i can see clearly now alot of problems we share. Binge eating out of camp, fixation on food, addiction issues with weed and drink - honestly it has changed my whole life.
Once you've been truly truly hungry your food drive changes. I eat and drink incredibly fast, like I don't know when I last time I ate or when I will eat again. Sometimes I'll go days without being hungry and sometimes my sweet tooth takes over. My weight takes wild 10 lbs swings, but I keep myself around 200lbs

Gastelum had a good fight with a tough guy like Pyfer. He stood with him and traded, let his chin get tested. Did pretty good. He should just put up fun fights now, no one should take him serious for a titleshot probably ever. I don't see why he should get cut.

You're losing bone mass using that stuff, not just fat. Be careful

Yea fatsellum needs to go fight in king of the rage cage er something

Meh. None of Gastelum's losses are to cans and while he's not having a lot of great fights he's not having hard to watch fights either. He's fine to keep around as a gatekeeper to ranked fights--beat him and get a ranked fighter--or in some similar role. Non-jobber meat is a valuable MMA commodity. Yes, he shouldn't be on PPV main cards, but if he wants to keep fighting in the UFC there's space for him to do so.
People are quick to knock people out and shit on them. Dude is legit and some good fighters have bad runs. He's in his early thirties, though, so he needs to get some focus. Can't blame the guy for getting rocked early and coming back for the third. *shrug*

Dude is a fighter through and through. Granite chin, no quit, throws hard. But man, I've never seen a high level guy with seemingly less discipline than Gastelum. He's actually fat at 185, which is ridiculous. Even like 6-8 weeks of dieting and he'd be fine to make 170.

I hope he's made enough money to not give a fuck. He doesn't belong on a PPV maim card anymore though.

shows up to fight night with a gut lmao. not a professional.

It was more competitive than I expected. Pyfer is not what they want him to be. He'll be exposed again soon.

That was the fattest Gastelum we have ever seen, but he should have won the fight IMO

@HI SCOTT NEWMAN ;)

He's like 5'7" in real life walks at like 225 and cuts to 186....lazy and unmotivated

We don't need to cut every fighter just because they are on a losing streak.

This guy is has been a ranked and headline fighter for a long time. How about the company shows guys like this some loyalty in return for their years of service?

Unless the drop off is dramatic and the chin is dangerously gone, stop racing to cut every losing fighter. You're better off with a name like Kelvin Gastelum than you are a bunch of forgettable eastern European wrestlers.
You're better off with fighters that are hungry and care about their careers. When was the last exciting Kelvin fight, Chris Curtis? Dude doesn't take his career seriously, gets no finishes, isn't a draw. Better off cutting him and using the $100-$200k he makes a fight and signing 1/2 blue chip prospects.

This is coming from a guy that used to be a fan of Kelvin.

Pyfer was extremely disappointing. He was always overhyped but I thought he'd be able to destroy a washed Gastelum. Instead he was just swinging right hands full power every 1.5 minutes, horrible fight IQ. He's huge and hits like a truck but his game is as deep as a puddle.
