Playing poker at a casino.

I have to get into it at some point. I'm good enough at texas I need to get all the tournament games down. Eventually try my hand in the big leagues. I just remember it feeling like 7 card no peak

It’s really nothing like no peek. It’s a community card game like Hold’em just with four cards in your hand instead of two. And you must play two from your hand and three from the board.

Yep it's why I like it more than BJs .....

..
Black jack
Used to be able to beat black jack when they only used one deck. Casino does not want you to win, so they introduced multiple decks and shuffles. And if you are winning and trying to card count, they just ask you to leave.

Ok yeah I've played it a few times. I feel like I'm missing some strats on how to play Omaha. I just never really dug it like texas

I've played at casinos. Though my game is much better suited for tourneys I have won some at cash games. Just feel the table out. Know where you're playing. If you are near an area where people pass through often, chances are there aren't a ton of regulars but If you are playing in a large city there will definitely be regulars...

I'm fucking pissed. I was at a casino just now playing poker. $40 no limit. I had about 120 in front of me and we got to the flop, pots about $45 (Ad 8c 4d)

On the flop one guy bets $6, I raise to $26. Everyone else folds. He calls my $20 raise.

Turn gives me a full house. (Ad 8d 4c 4s)

Dealer mistakenly thinks the other guy is all in and places the river card. (Ad 8d 4c 4s Ks). I say "hey wait, he's still got money and I want to bet more." I put him all in for his last $60.

Dealer calls the floor man over and he says, "discard the turn and river and re deal those." So they got rid of my full house and leave me with two pair. The re-deal gives the other guy a flush (Ad 8d 4c Jd Kc)(23 diamonds)

I protested for about 1 minute and the floorman just kept saying "sorry its the rule, you have to redeal if you've skipped the action". But they didn't need to re-deal the turn IMO. We both paid a bet on the flop to see that turn card, the dealer only gave the river card away for free.

I wish I'd pressed it more because the floor man may not have understood that last part. Either way, I've been playing poker for 15 years and never had that happen to me. Other guy ended up keeping a $200 pot and I was left with $20. Has anyone else ever seen that rule before?

If it happened the way you said it happened then the turn is not redealt, just the river.

God damnit thats what I thought.

I threw down my player card and said "fuck this I'm not coming back" and left.

oh jesus. when you didnt state the game type, i assumed 8/16 was no limit

and yes, limit holdem is completely different from no limit. if im not mistaken, optimal play for limit holdem has been solved, so its basically become as much a game as blackjack is.

I don’t think that is true. There may be less variance but there are so many different possible hands that it would be hard to come up with a system like blackjack.

i was up like 200 bucks at a casino until my best freinds gf distracted me with her boobs

I only play blackjack cause I'm an old school murican man's man.

There is a race track in Portland or. Portland meadows. All the lowlifes play poker there. I play poker there lol. Seriously tho, I feel like it's a game run by the mob.

None of the dealers are professional. They rotate members.
Yeah i stay away from poker because some idiots cant take an L and will try to get at you in the parking lot, especially the hot headed Armenians they have tempers.

I just stick to video poker and keno when i go.

fyi, "weakly solved" technically means a strategy has been found that "secures a win for one player, or a draw for either, against any possible moves by the opponent, from the beginning of the game."

i played russian roulette in the basement of a building in saint petersburg for a bottle of vodka

Awful ruling. Floor person should let action finish on turn, and then instruct dealer to place river card in deck, shuffle, and place new river w/o burning a card.

if you’re just playing for fun then no worries but the rake at the 1-2 tables will likely take you to 0. So you’re better off playing 2-5. Also, less scumbag players at 2-5 than 1-2. As far as table games, I believe War has the lowest house percentage.

Low limit holdem can eat shit and live.

Lmfao at WAR. That’s some Vegas vacation shit.
