In that video, they were talking as if they did kick the door. They made it seem like that is a factual detail of the incident. Then they talk about the cell footage. Just guessing, but I would guess they kicked the door, went to hide in some bushes or something to record the reaction, and the home-owner was in defense mode because of the door. He see them and still decides to shoot. They have that on the cells. Just my guess.
Well you can't fix stupid, and on that note something tells me that guy has many more painful lessons coming his way.
I actually don't blame the parents for supporting him. They probably realized this kid is either going to make it through youtube or they are going to be living with their 40 year old son or he gets shot and killed. They are probably ok with it.

This is why i have ring floodlight cameras all around my house. I wonder if there is ways they can obtain deleted video.
Unfortunately not all States in the US have a stand your ground law.

That's a dumb way to think about it. Most thieves carry some form of protection incase things go sideways, and you never know who is going to have a fight, or flight response when confronted. For all you know those thieves could have had a knife or a gun and just chose to flee.
