This puts forth that slaves were responsible for producing raw materials like indigo and cotton that were shipped off to be made into jeans, and that they were sold back to them to wear. Not that they invented and made jeans or that they were the sole wearers of it. Your own source debunks you. This also doesn't even try to argue that denim was being made here before Nimes, just that they were made before Levi which everyone knows, but the true blue jean wasn't until rivets were put on them.

I'm actually a pretty big denim head and wear a lot of clothing based off designs from the late 19th century and early 20th. Being from the San Francisco Bay Area and had spent a lot of time as a kid being exposed to old mining towns in Northern California it's part of my culture.
