Pinched sciatic nerve

yeah had it years back ended up have surgery. and it helped but my back will never be the same. kinda wish i woulda looked at more options. but the pain was very bad. is the pain shooting down the back of your leg kinda under your ass down your thigh?

I woke up today with a pinched nerve in my neck. I can't turn my head. The shit sucks. They last a few days. I've had this before.

I was mocking my mother for having it and being old for recently turning sixty, then got it from work. Lifted heavy the night before.

I was in a lot of pain in my back and my right buttock in November, took three weeks off work, annual leave, not because of injury, and whilst the pain in my back has gone, the nerve pain in my buttock remains.

I'm fine standing and sitting, but the transition tweaks the nerve and sends a shock from the buttock down to the calf. I'm regularly jumping in and out of a truck at work and every time I go to put my foot down, it happens.

Karmas a bit over the top on this one.

Had ik in January 2023, never had such a pain in life. Couldn’t sit, lay down, everything hurt to the point of crying, and I’m not a lil bitch. Lost feelings in my shin and lost force in my leg, forced hold to a rail when doing stairs and walking with crutches when it rains.

"Burning the nerves." They now basically go in and singe off the nerves. It will not paralyze you, and you can still feel and move fine, but those tiny nerve endings will be burned off, eliminating pain. Problem is, it somehow isn't a lasting solution. I know people who have had it done three times.
My ex's brother just had that done for the first time. He said he's still in pain but much less than before.

Yeah, we don't have a great way to utilize any neuronal regenerative techniques on nerve tissue lines with diameters greater than 5mm. And from my experience, most sciatic nerve lines are surprisingly thick, thick enough to where you could grip them with your whole hand. Every once and a while somebody will have a relatively thin sciatic, but not thin enough to be used for transplant. Only seen that once.

Yeah, it's something my mom underwent a few times (as well as injections). Ultimately, she had a fusion of three lumbar vertebrae, which was a tremendous, lasting improvement. The other stuff is little more than temporary relief and assessment.
