Had my first kickboxing match last night after 3 months of training. This has been my first every boxing/kickboxing/mma match of any kind. Before this point of my life I have done a grappling tournament, played high school basketball, and played competitive paintball. I was AMAZED at how much more cardio I needed.

I lost on a split decision. I gassed hard at about the 1:30 mark of the second round. I won round one easily, the judges split on round 2, and I lost round 3 (judges caught me afterwards and said until the last 20 seconds, I was winning) after a straight right caught me and my legs were so rubbery I fell down.

I felt like I had better hands then the other guy (who had previous boxing matches) and did more damage. However, in the second, he "looked" more busy and that is why I lost it on two judges cards. I busted him up good in the first and start of the second.

I really need more cardio and had no idea just how much I would need.

Enjoy: (I am the one with the Red trunks)

There are more photo's on the album. I just tried to pick the best ones. There is one when I was down (from a nut shot) that is down right depressing.

Work on the cardio and just keep at it. No one wants to lose... especially the first one, but if what your saying is all legit... it sounds like you've got some potential...

OMG, brutal nut shot.

Hope their ok.

holy shit that nut shot look like it hurt. Hell it looks like he was aiming for your nuts in the other pic too

Negative. I caught him with a left and stumbled him a bit and that threw off his aim.

sweet jesus the other guy just kept hitting you in the sack, props for going into the ring bro, probably the sack shots gassed you out

Man wtf was that other dudes problem?

i bet his favorite fighter is Cheick Kongo

how many days do you train? i myself just started a month ago in MT, and wanting to do a smoker in 3 months, my cardio has sky rocketed and i believe in 3 months i can have beast cardio

what did your conditoning/strength training look like how many days a week, also running etc.

why didn't they tape your gloves up? just wondering, cause your opponent had his taped up. Congrats on getting in the ring man, win or lose if you learned something then it was worth it.

That's pretty cool that you are fighting already with barely any experience. During your 3 months of training, how many days were you training and when did you decide you wanted to step into the ring?

Here is my schedule:

M/W - Muay Thai/Standup

T/Th - Grappling

Fri - Open (usually some type of sparring)

Sat - Wrestling

Sun - Open

I should say that the 3 months is actual "serious" training. I went from training one a day at the beginner class (technique and LIGHT sparring) and then this summer going to our fighter practices and extra technique practice.

Buttermania - Amateur kickboxing in our state allows for shin guards. Good way for newer guys to get into the ring w/o having to worry about having iron shins already.

dtravis - No need. The gloves we use have a hook and loop system. They are not coming off during a 2 minute round.

As for nut shots there was only ONE. The other picture that looks like it is leading to another is misleading. He got staggered by a punch and his punch was off aim from it.

nice man, after the month and a half of training, i've decided to step my training to a next level,
M boxing/bjj
T muay thai
W boxing/bjj
T muay thai
F wrestling
S muay thai
S REST FINALLY.
i'm gonna be conditioning about 3 days a week with 1 day of strength training along with ice baths/jaccuzi and bump up my carbs due to the additional training

actually going to cut out 1 day of conditioning if my body cant hang, and i train at 10th planet, so that rubber guard gonna help my flexibility
