The more Phil talks, the more likely he is of being cut after his next loss. He is not exciting or charismatic enough to be this outspoken, in Dana's mind anyways.

He'll make plenty of money in OneFC, M1, or Bellator. The days of Zuffa Zombies thinking UFC is the alpha/omega of MMA has been exposed as simply a power shift period.

No, but based on favouritism he has shown in the past, along with cuts that he has made to high ranked fighters (Fitch, Okami, Shields), I feel that it is a safe assumption that someone with Phil's fight history and skill set is on rather thin ice. Thought it would be obvious to anyone with an IQ above 50 would see that.

He's trying to talk himself into a title fight. Nothing wrong with it. Dana probably won't like it though.

I'm glad he is saying what he said. People need to stop with this "He'll be cut" bullshit.

UFC fires people left and right for a lot less and the keep guys around who have done a lot worst. People need to understand that the UFC is a job. It maybe a dream to some people outside of it(like being a straight male porn actor. Yes, boning girls is cool, then you realize that all of them are loose and you shoot in a room full of dudes) but unless you are the champ or have a key demographic on lock, you are just as likely to get cut if you did not say anything. This way Phil has the chance to get good money from WSOF, One FC, or Belllator.

Right now, he is very safe because if Gus beats Rumble, then wins the rematch,Phil would have win on him that would need to be taken care of in the UFC. If Rumble wins, not so much. But if talking got Conor(a fighter with a very easy set of oppenets in the UFC) and Chale some where, it will work for Mr. Wonderful
 
Don't think Dana would care about Phil's comments much, he knows Phil likes to joke around.
