PFL Taking Over

PFL is just the hot new thing and most people never seen it. It's an arguably worse product then Bellator in every way and all the stuff they say about Bellator; washed UFC fighters, mismatches, boring bouts, are more true about PFL nowadays, but they get a fraction of the hate
Yeah, but Bellator doesn't have the SmartCage™

What I like the most about these threads is that you can see the people who create them clearly don't follow the PFL and are just blinded by their hatred of the UFC (even though they go out of their way to watch ever PPV at a minimum) and because they signed Ngannou.

It reminds me of that one guy who you could tell had never watched the PFL and was all hyped about them in that one live thread at the start of this regular season and then halfway through the card was already changing his tune and complaining.

If these folks who make these threads actually followed the PFL, you would see the live threads and PFL discussion on here in general get more traction, specially participation from those creating these threads. However, the proof is there. They don't even participate in those discussions and mostly just participate in the UFC discussions.

I watch and follow PFL buddy. I also know lots of mma fighters and prospects myself that said they wanted to go to pfl because you are treated like a slave in ufc. I’m not gonna go into details on that though, I want to remain anonymous lol.

I like the UFC and do watch it as well, but they run a shitty business, and are very short sighted with how they run things.

Yes I don’t live on sherdog 24/7 I actually have a life to outside of sitting in a computer desk. I just got bored one day and created this thread. I’m not gonna watch the fights and post on Sherrie at the same time. I want to actually enjoy the fights in the moment. I posted it in the UFC section because worldwide it would barely get looked at.

Also “sherdog staff” you clearly aren’t biased towards the UFC….;) And the way you talk about the PFL too. Anyways stop stereotyping people you don’t even know on the internet.

And I can tell your friends have no idea what a slave is...

This is literally what the PFL is currently doing.

They have the Challenger Series and they co-promoted with regional events to put small 4 man tournaments to earn a spot on the Challenger Series. Unfortunately for the PFL, they had 2 in mind and only 1 happened which was the one in Brazil that they co-promoted with SFT. The other one they had planned was the one with an unnamed regional promotion in Africa that was even listed on ESPN+, but never happened. I remember this because I event created the thread for it on here. Here's the link.

This is a proven bad idea as they tried this with WSOF Global and it never really panned out. They are just using some of the bigger regional events and slapping the PFL tag on them, although realistically they aren't really PFL events. Back then they would just slap the WSOF Global tag on them. It's a desperation move to make them look bigger than they realistically are.
PFL is so keen on appearances and optics. Signing big names that will probably never fight or will take at least 1 year to fight. IDK why they care so much to be perceived as bigger than they are. I guess they are in that "fake it to you make it" mentality, and it might help them get a new ESPN deal but their current viewership is still tanking.

This is it, I couldnt quiet figure out what was going on but this is it. Most people havent even seen a single PFL event or know more than 5 fighters but are getting hyped because of thr novelty of signing Jake fucking Paul and Ngannou.

Yeah that’s totally it…. Read the actual whole thread. I know about as much about PFL as any of you do and probably more….

"This whole initiative is to be the Champions League of MMA. Local heroes, local pride. The winners of each of these regional leagues get to compete against each other and the very best move up to PFL Global"

Oh ya, only the very best can face......checks paper.......Patrick Brady

"It will be the sports season format – win and advance, lose and go home."

Also known simply as a normal tournament bracket. That's not a "sports season format"

"People have to wait and see – they will be surprised. They will have to take back their comments."

Cue Werdum.

"We have a database of about 30,000 fighters. We have hired some of the best people that did Moneyball out of baseball and created a system of identifying talent, including human scouting which we use for athletes at the top level."

The fuck does that mean. Are they measuring punching speed and scouting based on that?

Chatri and Donn Davis are both venture capital ghouls and are adept at making up nonsense that resonates with 50 yr olds who run these firms.

I don’t get the database thing. So they look at sherdog and Tapology?
