PFL is a massively inferior product to the UFC (first time watching PFL)

No, it isn't. You also didn't mention the lowest tier MMA you could watch. Additionally, good job forming an opinion based off of watching half of a card and only the prelims. Let's get you a jump to conclusions mat.
Tbf that PFL card was one of the worst and most boring events I have ever seen, if that’s your first impression of PFL, I don’t blame them

I don't mind Bellator, but the announce team is dog shit and the card the other night was trash. Surely there has to be more talent out there that these organisations can acquire.

I also like Onefc they produce a quality product
What was so bad about the last card? Was it just the lack of name value because overall I thought it was a good event

I agree 100%, that’s why I’m training UFC as my base martial art, I have a friend who’s been training PFL for roughly the same amount of time… when we spar I easily get the better of her, UFC is the superior style.
Just cause :eek::eek::eek:philia is legal in Japan and Italy does not give you the right to brag about it on here.

the mma part of ONE is their worst product tho
In terms of talent or technicality? They're def not top tier talent but they're also not sloppy so I'd much rather watch a ONE card than the average UFC Fight Night or even PPV prelims unless I happen to be intrigued with a prospect.

Bellator has some talented fighters yet their main cards always somehow have some fuckery involved and incredibly boring fights near the top. Not to mention rankings are an even bigger joke than UFC's. The grand prix's have overall been great though and Usman is an exciting LW champ.

Like I know historically not all top fighters have been in UFC, but right now, most of them are. I can stand some chess matches for higher stakes. But if every title fight is a cage hug in Bellator, why do I care about the 2nd to 4th best champion at that weight class in the world enough to subject myself to Big John's commentary and no finishing instincts on either side?

Obviously not always applicable but I have been let down by far more Bellator events than I could count, trying to root for someone to ruin UFC's cultural/practical monopoly.
I think it’s just an issue of that the UFC puts out so many shows, that the bore fests are forgotten quickly since there is a card next week.

TBF, coming to a conclusion about the quality of an organization's fights off of half a card, or even one for that matter, seems pretty dumb.

One of the things you notice when you watch Bellator or PFL is how FAST the athleticism declines in fighters outside the UFC.

Watching the UFC, you get acclimated to seeing fights happen at a certain speed. With the other organizations, it feels like watching fights at 75% speed. Everything seems slow, labored, and telegraphed.
I have a sneaking suspicion that UFC and ONE runs their events at like 1.1 speed. Not enough to be really noticeable but enough to get the effect

Both? They are low skill enough that the fights are sloppy fun without getting into really bad territory

their MT and KB (whatever they have left of that tbh) is light years ahead of their mma and the only thing worth watching one cards for

do they really not allow elbows?
They don't allow elbows because of the increased risk of facial lacerations which could keep fighters out of action

Because the season requires fighters to potentially fight 4 times on specific dates in an 8-month window they need to be able to make quick turnarounds which cuts can prevent.

I agree that fights are better with elbows tho

I have watched and enjoyed other PFL cards in the past but I thought this past card was pretty bad.

The main event between Brendan Loughnane and Marlon Moraes was pretty entertaining. And there were a couple of first-round finishes which were fine. But just a couple of guys without good grappling getting taken down and quickly subbed on the ground so not the most exciting.

All of the decisions were pretty boring imo. They had Krzysztof Jotko who had a long career in the UFC but he was one of the most boring fighters on the entire UFC roster so that is like negative name value. And his PFL debut did nothing to improve my opinion of him.

Oh I thought you were talking about the Bellator card, sorry

it was an especially boring card, like abysmal at parts

Grade A+ response

Their whole ratings and smart cage are total crap, but the rest i think is OK, they surely lack on drama and name value, but thats what happens when one company has been absorbing the market for 30 years.

I started training Pride but I ended up being a little bit fruity

First time watching PFL cause there's no UFC this week. It is such a inferior product, their constant appeal to social media, announcers with their horrible voices, and the lack of any drama in the fights.

Also, their round rating thing is weird and I don't like it. The best thing so far might be one of the announcers grilling that expert bettor guy as his parlay was failing.

This really makes me appreciate the UFC so much more. Give me Daniel Cormier and Michael Bisping on the announcer table over these fools.

Pfl did ok in mma-business
