“I respect all my opponents. I have never had problems with any of them,” Lobato said. “Yushin has been in the sport a long time, but he comes from country that does not have as many athletes as Brazil. We have many talents. We have countless athletes and now he’s going to get hit [in the] face with someone he has NEVER seen fight. So be prepared.”
Although Lobato has spent a large portion of his career at middleweight, he will challenge Okami at welterweight adding another wrinkle to his promotional debut. The Brazilian is looking to make a statement in the North American MMA scene at the same time he’s entering a new division, but he’s convinced the world has yet to see his true potential. On July 29, Lobato is sure that will change.
“I’ll leave [everything] within the Decagon,” Lobato said. “I’ll show everyone that I came to [welterweight] to mess up the MMA world.”
“I’ll leave my mark on the Professional Fighters League. At the same time I was called by them, I was called to fight in Russia. I did not accept it. I chose to come fight here because I know that here, I will grow as I want. I will achieve my goals and dreams. I came to make a difference. I came to stay. The first obstacle I go through will be July 29.”
