Why, yes he's a kicker but he never picked opponents appart with leg kicks, he had some success with leg kicks against Wonderboy, but in other fights he was never focused on leg kicks. Benson and RDA have devastating leg kicks.

This is what I see happening. Pettis just doesn't do well under pressure. Sometimes he can pull off the win but most of the time he just folds. Maybe the low calf type leg kicks would work though. Those seems to really fuck up peoples legs.

Conor never picked anyone apart with leg kicks or even really threw them either till the Nate rematch. Pettis' kicks were a major factor in his KO win over Wonderboy and it's not his only fight he's kicked the legs and body a lot.
