"Petr Yan vows to destroy 'my b*tch' Aljamain Sterling in UFC title unifier"

Hell yeah. Petr will batter him just like his last few opponents.

Hello, The Saint. Even though we've never met before, I want to ask you something. Do you know what the name of the chick in your avatar is? I think that she's very sexy.

I used Reverse Image Search on Google. The only thing that Google told me is "midriff." Obviously, that doesn't help me at all.

This is the real thread-winner.

man, Steph Rayner is hot. I’m assuming our fellow sherdogger “the saint” is the guy in her Insta? Lucky fella

What say you, Sherdog? Does Alga, I mean Aljo, have a chance, or is Yan destined to "destroy" him again?
Honestly this is not the type of fight to bet on in my opinion. I favor Yan, but Sterling did have some bizarre success in their first fight (albeit against Yan, who is notorious for being a slow starter). I also feel that Aljo fought with a poor strategy and may be able to optimize his efforts with a more refined approach. But yeah, Yan's defensive grappling just seems so damn good and he gets better as the fight goes on. I like Yan by decision.

People seem to gloss over that Sterling took a pretty unorthodox approach to fighting Yan which presumably will be refined in a rematch. I still pick Yan over any bantamweight in the world, but its not some forgone conclusion that Aljo loses. I'd probably guess something like 60/40 Yan, likely a late stoppage.

Yan might turn out to be an all-time great. He's good everywhere and has excellent fight IQ. Nobody should pick against him right now.

The other big variable is if the surgery actually helped Aljo with his arm and impinged nerve. If he is further diminished I think he's in big trouble.

Yan will be coming in expecting to win, and will pay for it. Bet the house on the champ.

Hope Aljo's made some changes or he gets dominated (again).

He went 1/17 on td attempts in the first fight. If he corrects that plan for the rematch he might have more success. Yan is a fucking problem though any way it's sliced.

No doubt. SMH had a few posters in this forum who say that Yan was not dominating when the fight was stopped...

Aljo actually had a pretty good gameplan last time. To try and hurt Yan as much as possible before he inevitably gasses out and Yan smashes him; although, the problem with this strategy is than even if Aljo decides to pace himself, Yan will make him work/hurt him so that he would gas again.

Aljo really doesn't have much of a shot.

As others have said...Aljo will keep claiming that injuries prevent him from defending the title, until the UFC strips him of the title.
