Persona 5

Ah ok now it makes sense. I've talked to the politician a couple times but I can't go to Shibuya at night yet so I haven't been able to follow up on that. Will make a note of it. Same with the wimpy student after I finish Kamoshida's Castle. Thanks again!

you have to get one of your stats up, forgot which to get a part time job at the beef bowl shop. if you work there 2-3 times, the politician comes in and asks you to come to his speecha nd unlocks his confidant.

he is a good one because he raises charm everytime you meet with him and his 2nd level reward makes it VERY easy to grind for like 100k yen in 20 minutes

but focus on guts because you need guts for temperance and devil (doc) which are the best 2 until you get fortune which isnt available until much later

in fact, the doc confidant raise your guts everytime you meet with her, so it helps unlock rank 3, which you need for temperance

since people have already posted about doc, ill just say that she is the 2nd biggest time saver after fortune

the later dungeons would take at least 4-5 days without her SP adhesives, but with her, you can get to the end of any dungeon in 1 day. plus you need guts for temperance and hanged man, and raising the doc raises your guts for those confidants too

priority 1 should be raising guts ASAP to get doc up to selling discounted adhesives

I am fucking hooked on this game. Man has the last 4 months had some great games. Nioh, Nier, Persona, Mass Effect, and Horizon. Holy shit what a few months.

And next month Prey comes out and its already getting System Shock comparisons. What a year for gaming

How many SP adhesives do you keep on hand? Do you have one for each team member or just one and rotate since they're pretty spendy. I haven't unlocked them yet, but I plan on running with 1 at first and maybe get an extra down the line to speed things up.

once you get the discount the level 3 adhesives are only 50k

the first time i got 1 adhesive (level 3) to permanently leave on joker and 1 level 1, that i rotated around

jokers the most important because he can change personas and hit a weakness every single turn (if they have any)

Didn't realize there were different ranks. What are the differences in SP recovery and cost between the levels?

SP adhesive 3 is 100k and gets 7 SP per turn

dont remember the exact costs of other ones, but theres one that gets like 4 SP per turn and one that gets 1 SP per turn, both significantly cheaper

you only have to raise her rank 2 more times to cut all the prices in half tho

Death is my main priority now, haven't been on in a few days but I think I'm on 5/4 and she is Rank 3. Was hoping to get her to rank 5 to unlock the adhesive prior to the 2nd Palace, but thinking that might be a stretch with the Guts requirements and even if I do get there, probably won't have the cash on hand.

You'll be fine; I wasn't using them until the fourth palace.

Oh... speaking of cash you're going to need 100k to start the Fortune confidant (when Shinjuku opens up). So get saving.

Soooo this can't be a coincidence right? They look too much alike

Coming up on the end of May and picked up a new team member and had to back out of the Palace. Loving the new mechanics with Negotiatons and Confidant abilities, but the story hasn't quite grabbed me yet. I know it will since the reviews said it had a great story, but as of now it still feels pretty light and the stakes arn't very high. Still having a blast though.

The story in Persona 4 started out a lot more serious as you were on the trail of a murderer dumping bodies in the TV realm. I don't remember all the details of Persona 3, but I seem to remember the gravity of the situation was pretty serious early on trying to stop the coming ruin. I really need to go back and play Persona 1 and 2. They're available on the Vita so the next time they go on sale I'll probably pick them up. I'm really hoping with the success of Persona 5 they decide to release a Persona Collection. Atlus released a survey a while back asking what fans would like, and re-release of previous games was one of the options, so I know they're kicking the idea around.

you only get it relatively late in the game but i love how the tower arcana ties in to the confidant abilities

you get a momentos request about kid who spends his whole day playing gun games at an arcade, he becomes a confidant and teaches you really good gun abilities that joker uses

You're going to have to sit through nearly 2 hours of text/dialogue/anime to set up the true ending (no saves during this point).

My save is sitting at nearly 95 hours. I'm thinking there's 3-5+ to go.

I'm only starting the second palace but I'm loving the themes and designs in this game. Just wish I had more freedom with my time. The entire week of exams was skipped and days following it make you skip valuable time right away. I finally regained control of my time since I got the mission to steal the treasure in the second palace. Having a hard time deciding whether I should focus on upgrading my skills or leveling up confidants. I do the Death confidant whenever she's available, and I want to at least level up Hiero to level 4 so I can make the curry which restores SP to everyone. Then there's the Mementos which I finally unlocked, but if I go there I pretty waste an entire night. So hard deciding what to do. I want to have evenings free to finish up my DVDs because the last two times I was charged late fees since I had no control over my time and wound up going past the return date.

Confused about fusing personas and confidants and shit, but on second palace and this game is soooooo amazing

Persona fusing isn't too hard to figure out after you play around with it. Basically you just combine 2 Personas to make a different, stronger one. Most of the time you end up making ones you can catch later on, but by fusing they can learn moves and abilities they wouldn't normally because they can inherit skills from the Personas you use to make them. So it pays off to level up the Personas you do have before fusing, since that way your new Persona can pick from more skills to inherit. I haven't fused that many so far since I'm trying to level up the ones I have.

Confidants are just the people you meet who can give you more abilities when you spend time with them. You can see if someone is a confidant from the main menu, and when you see someone in the game who has a card bubble above their heads that's a confidant event. Some are more useful than others.

Also I can't wait until I can start the dating sim part of the game. At the moment the punk doctor girl is easily my choice, but I haven't met the nerdy red haired girl based off the Splatoon character yet.

She comes in pretty late but she's an interesting character

She's a favorite for the basement dwelling autists on 4chan lol

Imo priestess and temperance are best girls

The characters in the game keep commenting that Ann is the hottest but her storyline is boring imo
