Does anyone else feel this way? We knew a loss was coming at some point for conor. Thinking long term i truly believe this loss will be better for him rather then if he KO'd diaz in 10 seconds. The loss is deff not better on the business side of things for conor but it's better on the fight side of things.

I rather him have lost here with no true belt on the line, eat some humble pie, and get back in the gym and work 10x harder on the flaws in his game. He was exposed plain and simple. But its better to have been exposed with no belt on the line.

Being able to persevere through times of adversity is what makes fighters great. Even in the real world, to be a man you must be able to handle adversity, learn from it and push through.

Im calling it now. We will see a different conor at the next press conferance. He wont sit there quietly as he must promote the fight, but he will be more humble.

He knows how much will be on the line when defending his belt, and he knows hes got plenty of things to improve. To circle back, i believe in the long run this loss will be the best thing to ever happen to him. What do you guys think? Hopefully he comes back better then ever.

If that loss make him go to a bigger/better camp yes.
If he don't change that he will lose again, soon.
Conor have a lot of potential (& I don't like the guy)
Imagine Conor with Jack/Wink or at Tristar.
He was a bit exposed last saturday tbh.

It's impossible to not like this. I imagine that even the biggest Conor fan sees this and goes "that's pretty good."

I think if he goes to 155, there are some dudes that can really tool him on the ground. And that's if he survives Frankie at 145. Going forward, I think he will win some and lose some.

hard to say, would UFC 200 do better if Connor still had his aura, now the spotlight is up for grabs at 200 imo.

which is why fighting was so risky. it doesn't even feel like he is a champion right now lol.
He's still got the belt, but he's been exposed. The hype would of been unreal for ufc 200 had he won against Nate, however now I think the ppv will do less numbers now, than it would have had if the outcome had been different with Nate.

Still look forward to his next fight and hope they give Frankie a chance.

couldn't agree more. I said he was no doubt exposed. And that's where I think it will help him in the long run instead of just KOing diaz quick. You learn more from failure then you do success and I guess that is my main point.

I agree. Also he is only 27, didn't even hit his prime yet but if he he continued to win he would never improve that much and the current Conor would still be around when he should hit his prime.

it will deff hurt the business side of things but I think he will be a better fighter because of it,

who do you really think they are going to give the fight? honestly I think it goes to aldo. just because of what he accomplished over all that time. but I cant see them passing over Frankie again lol. They'll probably hope conor beats aldo, then give the next one to Frankie but idk man.

Honestly I see Aldo getting the shot and wouldn't mind seeing how that fight plays out if it goes longer than the last one. Frankie is hard to deny at this point tho and it'd be a shame if he got passed on again. Holloway is really close and should fight whoever doesn't get a shot, on the same card soo that they have a back up incase of injury.

yea man. either way it'll be very exciting. regardless of what happened at that last aldo McGregor fight, he is still a very difficult opponent and i'm worried about McGregor but what can you do. It's funny how much of that aura has been lost. If he can rattle off back to back wins against aldo and McGregor that'll be impressive no doubt but he's got a ways to go. Thanks for the responses

that coping. this fight ruined a lot from him. he was set for a shot at the welterweight belt, now he's atleast 3 fights away from a shot at the lw belt and ww is gone forever.

At first glance it seems like he has a lot of potential, but you can't change a personality. He has physical gifts, but I think he'll squander them just like so many of these other flash-in-the-pan fighters do.The guys with big KO power as their only weapon often choose to not spend the unpleasant hours grinding out their wrestling practices, they don't get good at BJJ, they don't learn how to fight in wars, all they want to do is get easy KOs.

So many fighters come into the UFC looking promising with 5 straight KOs or whatever, then just plain fail and go away.
