Alex career prior to about 2017 as a kickboxer was really more an upper mid level guy, he clearly improved after that and beat a couple of the big names he's lost to previously.
I'm guessing part of the reason he's lasted fairly well is he only pushed his training up to that extra level latter in his career who has a bit less wear on him, "world class" Alex is more the last 7 years or so.
