This. People in general have a lot of problems in understanding how easy it is to lose a fight or even multiple fights to a same opponent but still be the better fighter in a long run. Same with other sports also, ofc.
You can lose to a fighter multiple times and have a better career than that fighter, but there’s no way you can claim to be a better fighter than them without a victory.

Not only did Pereira beat Adesanya twice in kickboxing, but Pereira's kickboxing career is better than Adesanya's also. Light years better, actually.

And now, he just finished dethroning Adesanya from his Championship position. If he does it again, Pereira will likely have the better MMA career as well — especially if he goes up and becomes LHW champ, which Adesanya failed to do.

Ofc you can't, that's not what I implied. There are obviously currently more reason to believe Pereira would beat Issy more than 50 times out of 100. My point just was, that no-one can know that with 100% certainty just based on competitive 3 fights. Like that other poster pointed out, if they are evenly matched in a long run there were still a 25% chance one of them would win 3 fights in a row.
